Abstract: An apparatus for mounting a cable working tool comprises a tool adapter, an elongated rigid support bar for supporting the tool adapter and first and second clamping members for rigidly holding the support bar. Each of the first and second clamping members has two jaws, at least one of which is moveable, for mounting the first and second members to an object. The apparatus may also be used as a tool itself for moving the end plates of a cable splice enclosure relative to each other to facilitate re-assembly of torque bars onto the end plates after maintenance on a splice has been performed.
