Patent number: 5465838Abstract: An identifying shield for an electronic instrument housing is formed of elastically stretchable and deformable material. The shield elastically surrounds the periphery of the instrument housing adjacent to its front panel surface, and defines a central opening that exposes the front panel for viewing by an operator. A first portion of the shield defines the central opening overlying the front panel of the instrument housing, and a second portion extends rearwardly from the first portion defining a peripheral band that engages the periphery of the case along its sidewalls adjacent to the front panel. An inwardly extending flange projects from the rearward edges of the peripheral band to enhance frictional engagement with the underlying sidewall surfaces of the instrument housing.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 1993Date of Patent: November 14, 1995Assignee: Omega Engineering, Inc.Inventors: Milton B. Patent number: 5306164Abstract: A separable electrical connector with a housing formed of electrically insulating material includes an external grounding terminal anchor positioned in a grounding strip groove on the surface of the housing. The groove, in the form of an open-sided recess, receives and positions a suitably dimensioned grounding strip of electrically conductive material. The strip is coupled to the anchor by a screw fastener which engages mating screw threads formed in the anchor. One or more display surfaces surrounded by upstanding protective wall surfaces are formed on the exterior surface of the housing for the display of identifying indicia, and the base surf ace of the external grounding strip groove may be used as a display surface, if desired, in the absence of a grounding strip. The grounding terminal anchor may be made of electrically conductive material so that an anchored conductive grounding strip will be coupled to the housing both electrically and mechanically.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 1993Date of Patent: April 26, 1994Assignee: Omega Engineering, Inc.Inventors: Milton B. Hollander, David R. Jacobs, William E. McKinley, Janice E. Angrave

Patent number: 4671690Abstract: A first hollow cylindrical member has a first open end and an opposite closed second end with a plurality of spaced off set axially disposed channels therein. A hollow capsule filled with cosmetic powder is closed at one end and open at the other. The capsule is inserted into the first member with the capsule open end adjacent the second end and communicating with the channels. A second hollow cylindrical member has opposite open third and fourth ends. The inner surface of the second member adjacent the third end is threaded. The second end rotatably engages the third end. A hollow cylindrical element is disposed in the second member and is open at both ends. The element has a thread on its outer surface which engages the inner surface thread of the second member. The element has a like plurality of prongs which are engagable with and disengagable from the channels.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1985Date of Patent: June 9, 1987Assignee: Laura Lupton Inc.Inventors: James E. Ladd, Jr., David R. Jacobs

Patent number: 4652162Abstract: A hollow elongated capsule containing cosmetic powder slides removably into an open end of a first elongated hollow member. The other end of the first member has a plurality of spaced openings. A second hollow elongated member has two opposite ends, one of which engages the other end of the first member. A plate disposed in the second member intermediate its ends has openings aligned with the first member openings. An element slidably disposed in the second member has openings which can be moved into alignment with the plate and member openings or which can be moved out of such alignment. A brush having parallel bristles with powder applying tips is disposed in the third member with the tips disposed adjacent the second member. The brush and third member have manually operated cooperating elements for establishing a first position at which the bristles extend almost entirely out of the third member and a second position at which the bristles are disposed within the third member.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 1985Date of Patent: March 24, 1987Assignee: Laura Lupton Inc.Inventors: James E. Ladd, Jr., David R. Jacobs

Patent number: 4647240Abstract: A first elongated hollow cylindrical member has a first open end and a second closed end. The second end has a central opening and an exposed face carrying an offset circular groove surrounding the opening. A hollow elongated capsule filled with cosmetic powder is slidably and removably disposed in the first member and has an open end adjacent the second end. A second elongated hollow cylindrical member has a third closed end and an opposite open fourth end. The third end has an exposed face with a transverse slot therein. The slot has a hole. The second and third ends are rotatably engaged. An elongated member is slidable in the slot and has a chamber and a transversely disposed prong. The prong rides in the groove and is moved back and forth in the slot as the first and second members are rotated relatively to each other. These members have a first rotational position at which the chamber and opening are aligned and a second rotational position at which the hole and opening are aligned.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1985Date of Patent: March 3, 1987Assignee: Laura Lupton, Inc.Inventors: James E.
