  • Publication number: 20240151801
Abstract: A method for modifying a repeat interval of a locator beacon is described. The method includes transmitting repeatedly, by a beacon transmitter, a first advertising beacon signal through a first number of transmission repetitions spaced at a first repeat interval. The method further includes transmitting repeatedly, by the beacon transmitter, a second advertising beacon signal through a second number of transmission repetitions at a second repeat interval, wherein the second advertising beacon signal includes an identifier that provides identification of the beacon transmitter and user information. The method further includes receiving a modification instruction from a user device. The modification instruction is configured to modify the first repeat interval into a third repeat interval. The method also includes transmitting repeatedly, by a beacon transmitter, the first beacon signal through the first number of transmission repetitions spaced at the third repeat interval.

  • Publication number: 20130124174
Abstract: An internally parallel PDES (“IP-PDES”) system performs logical processes in parallel and further performs the internal processing of at least one logical process in parallel. Because the IP-PDES system is PDES-based, each logical process may have its processing performed in parallel with the other logical processes. The IP-PDES system allows for certain logical processes to be designated as internally parallel meaning that the logical process, referred to as an IP logical process, has its internal processing also performed in parallel. The IP-DES system allocates multiple nodes for such an IP logical process so that executable code of the IP logical process executes in parallel at the allocated nodes to simulate the occurrence of an event. Internal parallelism within a PDES may help overcome resource limitations and help speed up the overall simulation.

  • Patent number: 6134531
Abstract: A computerized method enables an audience to synchronously interact with a broadcast program in realtime. A broadcast clock of a broadcast system is synchronized to a standard time. A server clock of a server computer is synchronized to the standard time using a network timing protocol. A client computer clock of a client computer is synchronized to the server clock. The program is broadcast synchronously to the broadcast clock. Web pages are provided by the server computer to the client computer. Responses generated by the client computer are time-stamped according to the synchronized time of the client computer so that the responses can be time-correlated to segments of the program.
