Patent number: 10618788Abstract: A load sensing device for a rescue hoist includes a load pin mounted coaxially with a traction sheave. A cable extends from a cable drum and over the traction sheave before exiting the rescue hoist. The traction sheave is rotatably driven about a traction sheave axis to maintain a back tension on the portion of the cable extending between the cable drum and the traction sheave. When the cable is loaded, strain gauges in the load pin sense a strain on the load pin caused by the load, and the strain information is communicated to a load calculator. Entry angle information is also determined and communicated to the load calculator. The load calculator determines the load on the cable based on the strain information and the entry angle information.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2017Date of Patent: April 14, 2020Assignee: Goodrich CorporationInventors: Bejan Ijadi-Maghsoodi, Raymond E. Peto, David R. Lopes

Patent number: 6534401Abstract: A method of selectively oxidizing a composite film. According to the present invention a substrate of having a composite film comprising of lower silicon film, a barrier layer, and upper metal film on the barrier layer is placed into a reaction chamber. An inert gas is then fed into reaction chamber to create an inert ambient in the reaction chamber. The temperature of the substrate is then raised or ramped from first temperature to a second temperature in the inert ambient. After the temperature of the substrate is raised to the second temperature the substrate is exposed to an ambient which oxidizes the silicon but which does not oxidize the metal.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2000Date of Patent: March 18, 2003Assignee: Applied Materials, Inc.Inventors: Hyun Sung Joo, David R. Lopes
