  • Patent number: 7275555
Abstract: A canopy of the type that is typically packaged in a kit form that permits consumers to assemble a group of pipe members into a canopy structure. Once assembled and erected, the canopy includes a series of vertical posts and a series of rafters that extend upwardly from the post. In order to provide additional structural support, especially to the rafters and to the roof structure formed by the rafters, a series of cross or brace members are interconnected between the vertical posts and the rafters. These cross or brace members are arranged in sets with each set including two brace members that extend between a pair of vertical posts and a pair of rafters. The brace members, vertical posts and rafters form a truss network that imparts structural strength and rigidity to the overall canopy frame structure.

  • Patent number: 6988505
Abstract: Canopies traditionally come in the form of canopy kits, and once erected, provide portable shelter for property, outdoor parties, etc. However, while canopies are useful in a wide variety of applications, the erected canopy structure is often restricted to a fixed size. The present invention discloses a canopy structure kit for a canopy that is transversely expandable from a first width, typically wide enough for an automobile, to a second width, typically wide enough for two automobiles. The expandable canopy structure kit includes extension members to expand the frame structure, and at least one cover adapted to fit the erected frame structure, whether the frame structure assumes an expanded or unexpanded configuration.

  • Patent number: 6505638
Abstract: The canopy structure of the present invention includes a generally rigid internal frame structure comprised of light-weight metal tubes and a pliable, waterproof covering such as nylon or other functionally similar fabric. The canopy covering further includes a series of grommet reinforced securing points which are each adapted to receive a tie-down or securing cord. These securing cords are formed of a loop of elastic or shock cord material which is attached to a ball-shaped stopper. Threaded into the edges of the canopy end panels are a pair of elastic bolt cords which also incorporate ball-shaped stoppers at both ends. The canopy covering is stretched taughtly across the top of the frame structure and attached to individual horizontal frame members using the elastic securing cords. Grommets located along the sides of the covering are attached to individual vertical frame members using both the elastic securing cords and an associated securing or locking tab.

  • Patent number: 6077354
Abstract: An automotive vehicle body painting system can be equipped with a paint purge mechanism that includes a densitometer responsive to density changes in the fluid flowing through the mechanism. The densitometer can be used to selectively direct pure paint into a pure paint collection receptacle or a solvent-paint solution into a mixed paint collection receptacle. The system achieves a relatively high percentage recovery of pure paint that is purged from the painting system during each paint color change.

  • Patent number: 5836321
Abstract: A system is provided for recycling a water ladened solvent used for purging a paint supply line of a paint sprayer. The purged material including a mixture of water ladened solvent and paint is filtered for separating the water ladened solvent from the paint. The water ladened solvent is collected and then reused for purging the paint supply lines of the paint sprayer.

  • Patent number: 5320682
Abstract: A method is provided for cleaning paint residue from the walls of an enclosed chamber and providing for reclamation of the cleaning solution. The method includes providing a regulated flow of cleaning solution under pressure to a hand held scrubbing apparatus for removing paint residue from the wall surface. The cleaning solution with the paint residue entrained therein drips down the walls and is collected in a series of troughs lining the perimeter of the paint booth. Taking advantage of gravity, the liquid drains from the troughs into a temporary storage container located below the paint booth. The liquid may then be pumped into a permanent storage container that could be in a remote location. The liquid is now available for reclamation.

  • Patent number: 5251092
Abstract: A power receptacle assembly includes a plurality of AC snap receptacles each having a base containing three insulation displacement connectors and each electrically connected to a female receptacle connector element. A snap-on retainer forces three insulated power conductors into the three insulation displacement connectors causing knife blade edges thereof to displace insulation and electrically connect inner conductor elements of the insulated power conductors. The snap-on retainer of one of the AC snap receptacles also receives three slotted male tab friction fit connectors to electrically connect them to the three power conductors, respectively. The three slotted male tab friction fit connectors are connected to a printed circuit board that interacts with the three power conductors. Each slotted male tab friction fit connector has an elongated slot separating two bifurcated prongs, outer edges of the prongs frictionally engaging inner surfaces of the insulation displacement connectors.

  • Patent number: 4690824
Abstract: A new class of solid pharmaceutical formulations enables the attainment of slow, zero order in vivo release of a wide range of pharmaceutically active ingredients upon oral administration. A broad range of release rates can be preselected by suitable adjustments of tablet properties. The formulations are based upon control of active ingredient release from the surface of the tablet via a controlled surface erosion mechanism. These compositions comprise:(a) an effective amount in the range of 10-90 wt. % of a pharmacologically active compound having a water solubility (20.degree. C.) of 1/5-1/1000 (w/w);(b) 1-40 wt. % of a compound which is pharmaceutically acceptable in oral compositions and has a water solubility (20.degree. C.) of 1/1-1/40 (w/w);(c) 2-20 wt. % of a compound which is pharmaceutically acceptable in oral compositions and has a water solubility (20.degree. C.) of 1/1-1/10 (w/w);(d) an amount in the range of 0.05-1.0 wt.

  • Patent number: 4657900
Abstract: An aqueous suspension of pure 5-aminosalicylic acid adapted for rectal administration is rendered storage stable against color formation by storing the suspension in a single dose polyethylene bottle adapted for rectal administration of the suspension, in a substantially oxygen-free atmosphere and in the presence dissolved therein of up to about 0.25% of bisulfite and protecting the suspension from exposure to atmospheric oxygen during storage by sealing the plastic bottle, in a substantially oxygen-free atmosphere, in a plastic pouch having a low oxygen transmission rate.
