  • Publication number: 20160269261
Abstract: A system and method for matching electronic devices found by multiple collection tools. The collection tools may be configured to obtain identical identification information regarding the same electronic device, but also to obtain other types of information dissimilar from each other regarding the same electronic device. Matching content of the identification information fields for the different collection tools allows a user to review the other dissimilar fields of data collected by these collection tools and determine if they are associated with the same electronic devices or different electronic devices.

  • Patent number: 9372438
Abstract: An electronic device for determining a level of toner volume in a replacement toner cartridge used in a printing device comprises a communication element, a memory element, and a processing element. The communication element transmits a request to the printing device to provide data regarding the replacement toner cartridge and receives the data. The data includes a current level of toner volume and a current printed page count. The memory element stores the data received from the printing device. The processing element is in communication with the communication element and the memory element. The processing element is configured to determine one of a plurality of sequential phases of a usage cycle of the replacement toner cartridge corresponding to a value of the current level of toner volume and determine a corrected level of toner volume using one of a plurality of equations selected according to the phase.

  • Patent number: 6399021
Abstract: A system is disclosed for inhibiting the corrosion of ferrous and other metals by passivating the metals. The system includes novel buffered compositions which may be applied to metal products, and novel combinations thereof with metals, for preventing or retarding corrosion, as well as methods for applying the buffered compositions to metal products, such that corrosion protection of the products is achieved. The methods include an in-situ application to existing structures with metal reinforcement as well as applications to metal products during manufacture. Generally, the compositions may be in various forms and comprise one or more layers, at least one of which includes a water repellent but water vapor permeable carrier component and one or more pH buffer components. The buffer is selected to produce a passivating pH at the surface of the metal.

  • Publication number: 20010024729
Abstract: The disclosure relates to the forming mineralized coatings on metal surfaces and to methods of forming such coatings. The coating can include a wide range of compounds and normally at least a portion of the coating corresponds to an amorphous phase. The coating and method are particularly usefull in providing a corrosion resistant coating or film upon a metallic surface. This aspect of the disclosure involves the formation of a corrosion resistant “mineralized” layer of tailored composition upon a metal substrate.

  • Patent number: 5871668
Abstract: A system is disclosed for inhibiting the corrosion of ferrous and other metals by passivating the metals. The system includes novel buffered compositions which may be applied to metal products for preventing or retarding corrosion and methods for applying the buffered compositions to metal products such that corrosion protection of the products is achieved through passivation. The methods include an in-situ application to existing structures with metal reinforcement as well as applications to metal products during manufacture. Generally, the compositions may be in various forms and comprise a carrier component and one or more pH buffer components. The buffer is selected to retain the proximity of the metal at a pH at which the metal is passive to corrosion. The compositions are environmentally friendly and are capable of replacing chromates which have been traditionally used with zinc and zinc alloys to inhibit corrosion of metals but which are potentially harmful to the environment.

  • Patent number: 5724716
Abstract: The invention provides a termination assembly adapted to retain an elongated, generally rigid member, such as a wire, to a mounting surface. A mounting surface is configured to define a receiving channel, which may include an aperture. A deformable sleeve member is configured to engage the generally rigid member to be retained and the channel in the mounting member. Cooperative deformation of the deformable sleeve and the mounting member will cause the two members to deform to engage one another, thereby securing the generally rigid member to the mounting surface.

  • Patent number: 5347617
Abstract: A printer accesses from a bit mapped raster matrix of an image to be printed, a group of bits corresponding in number to the number of printing elements of the printhead. This group of bits is used to drive the printing elements of the printhead so as to print the image. In the printers having raster scanning printheads, the selected groups of bits are accessed from the bit mapped raster matrix synchronously with the raster scanning of the printhead.

  • Patent number: 4233969
Abstract: A wound dressing material, particularly for burns, comprises a sheet of synthetic plastics material which is permeable to water vapor and air, preferably a polyurethane produced by polymerization of an isocyanate capped polyoxyethylene polyol, without any substantial amount of water present, using a cross-linking agent which reacts with the isocyanate groups. The polyol and cross-linking agent, and preferably also an alkylene oxide surfactant, are agitated to form an aerated mix, spread on a release paper, and heated so that polymerization begins in the exposed upper surface, so as to form a sheet having a dense outer region which is impervious to liquids, a cellular region beneath the dense region, and a smooth glazed surface for application to a wound.
