  • Publication number: 20220372788
Abstract: Various examples are directed to apparatus and methods for providing a door latch block assembly. An apparatus includes a first planar surface configured to mount parallel to and facing away from a first side of a door frame, and a second planar surface configured to mount flush with and facing toward the first side of the door frame. The apparatus further includes a rectangular protrusion extending from the second planar surface configured to extend through an aperture in the door frame and protrude from a second side of the door frame. The apparatus also includes cylindrical openings extending through the latch block apparatus configured to receive hardware for affixing a latching mechanism to a distal end of the protrusion. The apparatus is configured to provide precise alignment of the latching mechanism for securing the door frame to a door.

  • Patent number: 11262362
Abstract: The present invention provides biomarkers for sensitive, specific, accurate and quantitative diagnosis and assessment of chronic hypoxia. In particular, the present invention provides 2-hydroxyglutarate as a biomarker that is differentially produced in chronic hypoxia. Furthermore, embodiments of the invention are able to differentiate between chronic and acute hypoxia. Assays for levels of 2-hydroxyglutarate may be used alone or in conjunction with additional biomarkers of hypoxia to increase the precision of analysis. In particular embodiments of the invention, the level of 2-hydroxyglutarate and at least one second biomarker may be assayed to generate a hypoxic profile that can be compared to a reference or control profile, thereby diagnosing a subject as normoxic, chronically hypoxic, or acutely hypoxic.

  • Patent number: 9631407
Abstract: An access door for insertion into an opening in a construction surface is provided. The access door has a frame for engagement with edges of the opening in the construction surface. The frame has a channel formed therein for receiving a thermally insulative material to provide a thermal break between the frame and the construction surface. A door is operatively coupled to the frame and movable between an open position allowing access through the opening in the construction surface and a closed position preventing access through the opening in the construction surface.

  • Patent number: 6425211
Abstract: This invention relates to a novel self-closing fire rated floor door. More particularly, this invention pertains to a novel floor door which uses fusible plugs and compressed gas cylinders for automatically closing the floor door when ambient temperature rises above a predetermined temperature, due to a fire. A self-closing fire rated floor door assembly comprising: (a) a fire rated frame with an opening therethrough; (b) a fire rated door hingedly connected to the frame and cooperating with the opening; (c) a fluid cylinder which is pivotally connected to the frame and the door, the cylinder when pressurized with fluid opening the door relative to the frame, and when depressurized, closing the door relative to the frame; (d) a fusible plug, rated according to a specific temperature, connected in fluid-tight manner with the fluid cylinder.
