  • Publication number: 20220371111
Abstract: An adaptive cutting system is presented that facilitates cutting workpieces in new and different ways in a fun, easy, fast, accurate and safe manner. The system includes a benchtop having a grid of bench dog holes across its surface as well as a pair of table tracks embedded within its surface. An edge track extends around the benchtop and a pair of hinge members are connected to the edge tracks that also connect to a saw track that is movable between a raised and lowered position. The system also includes narrow rip stops, wide rip stops, bench dogs and a miter gauge all of which work in concert with the on-table features to facilitate on-table measurement and alignment of workpieces for performing cutting operations.

  • Publication number: 20220355220
Abstract: Embodiments of the inventive technology may be described as a plant biomass extraction apparatus for production of liquid extract from plant biomass, using carbon dioxide, including one or more of: carbon dioxide chiller, extraction chamber, extract collection chamber, at least one valve, and fluid conveyance componentry, configured to define a closed loop for passive, pump-free extract production. Certain embodiments may avoid saturation of the extractant, and the resultant compromise of process effectiveness that may be seen in those apparatus relying on mechanical pump(s) for flow and/or may present a tabletop, closed loop liquid carbon dioxide extraction apparatus for the production of an extract from plant biomass or other matrix.

  • Patent number: 10035468
Abstract: A clamping rack for securing an item to an object includes an elongated base member having two ends that each have a rear support surface projecting upwardly therefrom. At least one bottom support projects upwardly from the base member and has a bottom support surface oriented orthogonal to the rear support surfaces. Two pivot members each have an item engagement end with an upwardly projecting front support surface, and a tensioner engagement end, a tensioner fixed between each tensioner engagement ends to urge the tensioner engagement ends mutually closer. A handle member is fixed between the engagement ends and is pulled forward to pivot the front support surfaces away from the rear support surface to make room for the item to be placed therebetween. The item is clamped between the rear and front support surfaces when the handle member is released due to the resiliency of the tensioner.

  • Publication number: 20150053138
Abstract: There is an automatic pet food dispensing apparatus can intermittently serve wet or dry food to an animal or pet. Additionally, there is a methodology described for dispensing pet food in accordance with the automatic pet food dispensing apparatus. The apparatus has multiple input arrays for pet food containers and serving dishes. Upon prompting, by wired or wireless means, the apparatus opens a container of pet food, extracts the food to a serving dish, and then disposes of the empty container in a pet food container disposing area. The serving dish makes it way through the apparatus and out a pivoting door to the waiting pet. The apparatus has mechanical mechanisms that allow for wet pet food to be safely stored under a hermetical seal until ready for use thus preserving the health and safety of the pet, as well as preventing costly spoilage.

  • Publication number: 20060177184
Abstract: A coupler assembly for an optical backplane system having a backplane and two or more circuit packs connected to that backplane. Each circuit pack has an optical transceiver and the backplane has an optical pipe (e.g., an array of waveguides) adapted to guide optical signals between the transceivers of different circuit packs. A coupler assembly is provided for each transceiver to couple light between that transceiver and the optical pipe. Advantageously, the coupler assembly has a movable optical element that can accommodate possible misalignment between the backplane and the circuit pack. In one embodiment, the movable optical element is an array of MEMS mirrors, each mirror adapted to direct light between an optical transmitter or receiver and the corresponding waveguide of the optical pipe.

  • Patent number: 6757113
Abstract: Apparatus and method for allowing fine adjustment of a diffraction grating within an optical wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) device and for maintaining the grating in near-littrow alignment (i.e., to within an accuracy of +/−0.003 degrees) over the device's operating temperature range. Precise alignment is maintained by use of a 0.3 PPM/° C. “super invar” material in a wedge-shaped grating mount to eliminate an angular shift of the grating over typical operating temperatures. The wedge-shaped grating mount and thereby the orientation of the surface of the grating are adjusted precisely and maintained in position over the operating temperatures via a dual flexure structure wherein four precision adjustment screws with jeweled contact tips are tightened to achieve the desired orientation and stiffen the structure and then locked via locking nuts to prevent slippage.
