  • Patent number: 10443506
Abstract: An air turbine starter for starting an engine, comprising a housing defining an inlet, an outlet, and a flow path extending between the inlet and the outlet for communicating a flow of gas there through. A turbine member is journaled within the housing and disposed within the flow path for rotatably extracting mechanical power from the flow of gas. A secondary supply port is fluidly coupled to the flow of the pressurized gas in the housing.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 26, 2017
Date of Patent: October 15, 2019
    Assignee: Unison Industries, LLC

A turbine member is journaled within the housing and disposed within the flow path for rotatably extracting mechanical power from the flow of gas. A gear train is drivingly coupled with the turbine member, a drive shaft is operably coupled with the gear train, and an output shaft is selectively operably coupled to rotate with the engine.

  • Patent number: 4837886
Abstract: A pool cleaning device comprises a housing defining a chamber therein having a rudder and an air injector. When air is injected into the chamber, the housing rises from the pool bottom to the surface. The device further includes a float valve which causes the air in the chamber to escape when the device reaches the surface of the water. The housing has a port communicating with the water in the pool for letting in water to replace the air escaping through the float valve, causing the device to sink to the pool bottom after the air has been released from the chamber. The rudder causes the housing to move laterally during its ascent and descent. A brush attached to the housing scrubs the side wall and bottom of the pool. The ascent and descent of the device also causes the rudder to operate a gear mechanism causing the housing to rotate relative to the pool, thereby ensuring that the device will move laterally in different directions to cover the entire pool and to retrieve itself from corners.
