  • Patent number: 5816820
Abstract: A method of generating a simulation of a visual display of a computer session, includes the step of recording a visual display of a computer session by providing a journal record hook in binary format. Each message associated with each input from a computer input device is then recorded. After each message, the screen is checked for screen changes associated with each input from the computer input device and if detected, location coordinates of a screen change location are recorded and a detected screen change is copied as a bitmap. Cursor changes associated with each input from a computer input device are checked, and if detected, a cursor identification is recorded. The recorded visual display is then played back by providing a journal playback hook in binary format. An invisible window is then created to draw on and each recorded message is played back. It is also determined if there is a corresponding recorded cursor change and a corresponding screen change.

  • Patent number: 5804183
Abstract: A purified arginine deiminase (ADI) obtained from Mycoplasma arthritidis having the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 as well as an isolated nucleic acid molecule containing a nucleotide sequence encoding the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:1 are disclosed. Other aspects of the invention include an expression vector, a cloned gene for expressing the Mycoplasma arthritidis derived ADI, (recombinant) host cells useful in expressing the ADI of the present invention and substantially non-antigenic polymer conjugates containing the ADI of the present invention as well as methods of treating arginine deiminase susceptible conditions in mammals. The arginine deiminase-polymer conjugates have high levels of retained enzyme activity and relatively long circulating lives.

  • Patent number: 5773856
Abstract: A method and structure are provided for connecting to integrated circuitry. A connectivity cell includes multiple terminals formed within the integrated circuitry. The connectivity cell further includes at least one metal layer connected to at least one of the terminals. A first area is a substantially minimal area including the connectivity cell. A second area is a substantially minimal area including at least a part of each of multiple portions of the integrated circuitry. The portions are connectable to respective ones of the terminals while having a placement flexibility relative to the terminals. This placement flexibility of the portions is substantially equal to a placement flexibility of the second area within the first area.

  • Patent number: 5771477
Abstract: A method and apparatus for operating a power transfer device such as a vehicle transfer case having, shaft speed sensors, a two speed (high-low) drive assembly, an electrically, pneumatically or hydraulically operated shift operator and a microprocessor comprising the steps of sensing the speeds of the transfer case input shaft and output shaft, calculating the rate of change (.DELTA.S/.DELTA.t) of the speed of the input shaft, predicting, based upon such rate of change, a time when the input shaft and the output shaft will be synchronized and commencing movement of such shift operator at a time prior to such synchronization in order to effect engagement of such clutch into high gear at substantially the instant of synchronization.

  • Patent number: 5733393
Abstract: A tire that has a tread base compound and a tread cap compound that have synergistic properties, an extra wide center rib, stiff shoulder lugs, and lateral grooves between shoulder lugs that do not vary significantly in width has a superior combination of rolling resistance properties, traction properties, noise properties, and wear properties. Also the RSAT of the tire can be fine tuned by chamfering edges of lugs in the tire.

  • Patent number: 5691508
Abstract: An enclosure (400,500) having a pair of covers fastenable together to close about and seal a cable splice between end portions of a pair of multiconductor cables. At least one routing channel (418 or 420;528) is provided at a first end (406,506) and a single routing channel (424;536) at the second end (408,508), with a splice-receiving region (454) provided adjacent inner ends of the routing channels. Axially- and laterally-staggered outermost and innermost embossments are associated with each routing channel to establish an interruption in a linear path between the cable exits and a grounding region for the multiconductor shielded cables, so that the cables must be substantially bent to course around the embossments in serpentine fashion, defining cable strain relief. A partitioned region (552) in enclosure (500) accommodates receipt of a spliced connection of a pair of single-conductor coaxial cables into a linear routing channel bypassing the grounding region for multiconductor shielded cables.

  • Patent number: 5674023
Abstract: A clip rigidly joins two parts, one part abutting the other. A first part has a hole spaced from the surface of the second part. The clip has two spaced plates connected by a spine. One plate has a hooked or notched tongue which engages the hole. The other plate seats on the second part and both plates have edges abutting the first part. Apertures in the plates accept a screw, rivet or other fastener which holds the clip to the second part and pulls the two parts together.
