  • Publication number: 20160307182
Abstract: A telematics device, which is unrelated to an electronic toll collection (ETC) system, includes a processor, a location mechanism and a wireless interface to an outside server. The telematics device periodically monitors the location of the vehicle using the location mechanism and automatically activates a tracking function when the most recent location corresponds to a first predetermined location. Upon activation of the tracking function, the telematics device periodically records the vehicle locations to create driving history data. The device also requests and toll gate information from the outside server based on the recorded driving history data. The telematics device automatically stops recording the driving history when the most recent vehicle location corresponds to a second predetermined location and generates a vehicle report based on the driving history data and the toll gate information.

  • Patent number: 9406033
Abstract: A portable device, which is unrelated to an ETC system, includes a processor, a GPS receiver, a memory, a wireless interface enabling wireless access to an outside server. The memory stores a program which, when executed by the processor, causes the device to obtain map information and toll gate information by accessing the outside server, periodically obtain a location of the device by using the GPS receiver and record the location in the memory so as to create location history data in the memory. The program also enables the device to determine whether or not the device passes a toll gate based on the location, the map information and the toll gate information and to record a toll amount of the toll gate according to the toll information in the location history data in the memory.

  • Patent number: 9075716
Abstract: A user of a mobile station can report a mobile station issue by transmitting a report including a description of the mobile station issue and other information for rapid troubleshooting and resolution by a manufacturer, through a wireless mobile communication network, to the manufacturer of the mobile station or its software, via a life cycle management tool program at a network. The report sent by the user of the mobile station may include information relating to the description of the mobile station issue, mobile station device information, device operation information, diagnostic logs, or captured screenshots. The life cycle management tool program stores the report including the information and sends an electronic notification to a technical center of a carrier and/or the manufacturer of the mobile station or its software for review and resolution of the reported mobile station issue in real time.

  • Publication number: 20140149163
Abstract: A method that automatically links a Device Forum (DF) and a Quality Center (QC) is presented. In particular, data representative of a support issue provided through an interactive support channel of a mobile communications network provider is received at a DF server. A DF support case is established, via a DF web service running on the DF server, based on the support issue. A portal is displayed to facilitate management of a plurality of DF support cases including the DF support case. Upon determining that the DF support case has been viewed more than the threshold number of times, a message that instructs a Quality Center (QC) server to handle the support issue included in the DF support case is automatically transmitted to the QC server.
