  • Publication number: 20240155706
Abstract: A network device may maintain a list of existing slice identifiers, associated with slices of a core network, that are in use in active UE sessions, and may receive a slice identifier associated with a slice of the core network and provided in a request to establish a session between a UE and the slice of the core network. The network device may determine whether the slice identifier matches an existing slice identifier included in the list, and may create a new network address, with an address of the network device and the slice identifier, based on the slice identifier failing to match an existing slice identifier included in the list. The network device may utilize the new network address to establish the session between the UE and the slice of the core network.

  • Publication number: 20240135236
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for intelligently classifying unclassified transactions are provided. A program may receive a set of transaction data. The program may divide the set into a training set of classified transactions and a test set of unclassified transactions. The program may analyze the training set to generate a document term matrix. The program may analyze the test set and compare the analyzed terms to the document term matrix to predict a classification. The program may iterate to a pre-determined level of confidence in the prediction and assign a classification to a particular transaction.

  • Publication number: 20240112182
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for authenticating users. An exemplary method includes receiving, by a directory server (DS), an authentication request for a transaction to an account where the request includes a token and a cryptogram, and transmitting the token and cryptogram to a digital service server (DSS). The method also includes mapping, by the DSS, the token to an account number for the account, validating the cryptogram, generating a directory server nonce (DSN) for the request, and transmitting the DSN and the account number to the DS. The method further includes transmitting, by the DS, the DSN and the account number to an access control server (ACS) associated with an issuer of the account and, in response to an issuer authentication value (IAV), compiling an accountholder authentication value (AAV) including the IAV, the DSN and an amount of the transaction and transmitting the AAV to a merchant or server.

  • Publication number: 20240073491
Abstract: A streaming service updates a manifest to include a location of an encoded version of a program that is available for streaming and a restriction marker indicating that the program is restricted. A request for the manifest is received from a client device. Subsequent to providing the manifest to the client device, a request for authorization to stream the program is received from the client device, the request for authorization including client device metadata. Based on the client device metadata and blackout metadata associated with the program, it is determined that the client device is not authorized to stream the program. The streaming service sends, to the client device, slate information that identifies a slate image to be presented by the client device in lieu of the program.

  • Publication number: 20150170268
Abstract: A system and method for managing a retail longevity protection program. The longevity protection managed by the invention includes a single premium annuity combined with a customized loan program designed to pay the required single premium. The loan is paid down by the annuity benefit payments until fully paid off. The longevity protection program provides a stream of payments throughout the life of the program participant without ceding control of the investments and, thus, the investment risk undertaken by the program participant. In the preferred form, the longevity protection program takes the form of a fund rider. In this rider, designated a Lifetime Income Fund Enhancement (“LIFE”) Rider, the program participant selects from his or her existing investment accounts, such as a mutual fund, to which account the participant would like to add longevity protection. In this form, a loan, collateralized by the fund assets, is originated to purchase a single premium annuity.

  • Patent number: 8005739
Abstract: An improved method of funding and delivering benefits to the retired participants of a defined benefit pension plan. The method does this by having the plan purchase cash value life insurance with respect to each retired plan participant, and then entering into separate agreement(s) with institutional third parties to exchange a portion of the future death benefits from those policies for periodic cash payments that could be used to make pension benefit payments to plan participants as they become due. Such modified funding and delivery mechanism could result in significant cost savings to the defined benefit plan as it may be able to deliver more benefits per dollar of contribution to plan assets, thereby improving the financial health and prospects of the defined benefit plan, while also offering sufficient profit potential to other third parties to induce them to play a necessary role in the funding and delivery of plan benefits.

  • Patent number: 7613652
Abstract: Computer technology for substantially optimizing portfolios of multiple participants is disclosed. Preferably the portfolios of such multiple participants comprise fixed income instruments. The disclosed systems and methods include using at least one computer system for storing digital data representing portfolio holdings of multiple parties and, in particular, for each participant storing in the computer memory data representing constraints with respect to the desired portfolio. The method and system comprise optimizing using an optimization engine portfolio and constraint information of multiple participants so as to generate a set of trades that would substantially optimize participants portfolios with respect to a known objective.

  • Patent number: 7258275
Abstract: An improved method of tabulating votes cast by audiences of “Reality TV” shows in which contestants are competing with each other during a series of such shows, with one contestant ultimately being determined the winner. The method does this by systematically factoring into the tabulation process votes from prior voting sessions in addition to votes cast during the current voting session, resulting in a modified voting tally. Such modified tally will place more importance on average voting results over several voting sessions and less importance on the current voting session, thereby placing greater emphasis on the consistency of each contestant's voting tallies and therefore the consistency of their performances from one show to the next. Such improved method may result in a greater likelihood that the contestant with the greatest popularity with television viewers over the entire life of the series will be determined the ultimate winner of the television series contest.

  • Patent number: 7249075
Abstract: A data processing system and method for implementing and control of a financial instrument having pre-set maturity that provides efficient exposure to common stock at a reduced risk. In a preferred embodiment, the financial instrument is divided into units, each one consisting of a long-dated Treasury STRIP and the common stock of one company. Over its life term, each unit generates income based on the total return of the underlying common stock and can be created or redeemed at any time. The data processing system receives input from the capital market and evaluates the financial instrument, reporting its price to customers. The system further arranges for periodic distributions according to pre-defined distribution schedule and for the creation and redemption of new units. Also disclosed is a data processing system and method for administering a group of such instruments designed to track the performance of specified equity securities.
