    Abstract: An intravenous infusion device includes a casing having a duct configured for the passage of a catheter and selective restriction means for said catheter. The selective restriction means includes a motor having a threaded shaft and a locking component coupled to said threaded shaft, said locking component being disposed within a channel that is provided in the casing and communicates with the duct. Thus, when the motor turns the threaded shaft, walls of the channel in the casing prevent the locking component from turning, displacing the locking component along the threaded shaft to selectively block an opening in the duct along which the catheter passes.
