  • Patent number: 10092670
Abstract: A medical accessory holder (10) is provided for use during processing of medical equipment. The holder (10) comprises a tray portion (11), retaining means (16, 17) associated with the tray portion (11), and securing means (13) provided on the tray portion (11). The retaining means (16, 17) are adapted to engage with a medical accessory (20) such that, once engaged, the medical accessory (20) cannot be disengaged without breaking the medical accessory holder (10), thereby rendering the holder (10) suitable only for single use. The securing means (13) enable the holder (10) to be secured to an article of medical equipment with which the medical accessory (20) is associated, during processing thereof.

  • Patent number: 8789695
Abstract: A container (10) is provided for housing a medical accessory (20), such as a valve of a flexible medical endoscope, during processing (cleaning and high level disinfection) thereof following its use on a patient. The container (10) has a closure mechanism (15) comprising first and second complementary members (16, 17) adapted to engage with one another. Once engaged, the first and second complementary members (16, 17) cannot be disengaged from one another without the container (10) breaking. The container (10) is thus suitable only for single use, so as to prevent cross-contamination, and to comply with appropriate public health guidelines.

  • Patent number: 3984590
Abstract: Electric discharge lamps of extended life can be produced or cheaper materials used in their manufacture by providing on the internal surface of the envelope and on the exposed surfaces of internal components a protective coating of a metal phosphate or arsenate glass. External surfaces can also be protected against corrosion in air or in the atmosphere within an outer jacket, where this is employed. The coating may be applied in a liquid medium which, preferably after draining, is warmed to evaporate the medium and thereafter baked to form the vitreous coating.

  • Patent number: 3982046
Abstract: Tungsten-halogen lamps of extended life are obtained by coating internal surfaces of the discharge tube and exposed surfaces of internal components with metal phosphate or arsenate glasses. The preferred glass is aluminium titanium phosphate. The coatings may be formed by applying a liquid composition capable of generating the desired phosphate or arsenate to the surfaces to be coated, and subsequently heating them to remove the liquid medium and form a vitreous coating. The medium may be water or an organic solvent such as an alcohol, and may contain a dissolved compound of the metal and an oxyacid of phosphorus or arsenic.
