  • Patent number: 8351218
Abstract: An interface receiver having multiple tiers such that a first tier in the receiver houses a module having its longest dimension in a first direction and a second tier houses a module having its longest dimension in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The receiver has three or more cams on each of two parallel sides. The receiver is capable of being mated with “legacy” test adapters having two pairs of parallel sides with each side in one of the pairs having two locator elements for engaging with the cams of the receiver and new test adapters of the present invention having an odd number of locator elements on each side.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 12, 2008
Date of Patent: January 8, 2013

  • Publication number: 20070259575
Abstract: A contact pin that comprises an elongated body having a central axis and first and second ends, a plurality of flanges near the second end of the elongated body for connecting a wire to the body, a plurality of tabs on the body, the tabs being biased away from the central axis of the body and a plurality of protrusions displaced along the body from the tabs. The plurality of flanges may comprise a first pair of flanges for contacting a conducting portion of a wire and a second pair of flanges for connecting the contact pin to an insulator on the wire. The plurality of protrusions may comprise gimbals, which may be circular or any other shape. The plurality of protrusions may be located on the body of the contact pin near the second, or crimp end of the contact pin. Alternatively or additionally, at least one of the plurality of protrusions may be located on the body of the contact pin near the first, or contact end of the contact pin.

  • Publication number: 20060205253
Abstract: A mass interconnect device having a receiver and test adapter, each having a plurality of modules, pins and patchcords connected thereto. The receiver has an independent rotatable engagement lever attached at each side for drawing a test adapter into engagement with the receiver. Each engagement lever has dual cams that mate with a slot in an engagement plate on each side of the test adapter, thereby permitting the pair to provide four-point pull-down of the test adapter into the receiver.

  • Publication number: 20060032652
Abstract: A scalable mass interconnect device having a receiver assembly with module mounting members positioned in the receiver frame in a direction parallel to a plane of movement of the engagement cams in the receiver. Modules are mounted in the module mounting members such that the modules are perpendicular to a plane of movement of the engagement cams in the receiver.
