  • Publication number: 20210010304
Abstract: A motor vehicle lock including a detent mechanism with a catch and a pawl. The motor vehicle lock may include a drive train arrangement with a drive element. The catch may be pivoted between an open position, a primary closed position and a secondary closed position, disposed between the open position and the primary closed position. When the pawl is in an engaged state, it blocks the catch in the primary closed position and in the secondary closed position and may be raised into a release state to release the catch. A predefined drive direction is assigned to the drive element and during a cinching sequence, by driving the drive element in the predefined drive direction, the drive train arrangement may engage and drive the catch in the closing direction into its primary closed position, or into an overtravel position beyond the primary closed position.

Abstract: A motor vehicle lock for a hatch leaf including a catch, for the interaction with a lock striker, pivotable around a catch axis from an open position in a closing direction into a main closed position. A pawl pivotable around a pawl axis from a release position in an engagement direction into a main engagement position. The pawl including a main holding surface that when the pawl is in a main closed position or a main engagement position, the main holding surface holds the catch. A cinching mechanism may drive the catch in a closing direction to a main closed position. The cinching mechanism including a pawl cinching contour and a catch cinching contour, such that as the pawl moves in an engagement direction, the pawl may drive the catch to produce the catch cinching movement.

  • Patent number: 10871011
Abstract: A method for operating a motor vehicle lock by a lock control. A catch of the motor vehicle lock may be moved into an open position, into a preliminary latching position and into a main latching position, wherein the catch is or may be brought into holding engagement with a lock striker. A cinching element and a cinching drive are provided. During a cinching routine, the catch is being moved into its main latching position by the cinching drive via the cinching element. A manual movement of the catch into the preliminary latching position causes the cinching routine to be initiated by the lock control. During the cinching routine, the catch performs a first catch movement in its opening direction from the preliminary latching position into a safety position and a second catch movement in its closing direction from the safety position into the main latching position.

  • Publication number: 20200362599
Abstract: A motor vehicle lock, including a detent mechanism with a catch and a pawl. The motor vehicle lock may include a drivetrain arrangement with a drive element that may move in a predefined drive direction. During a cinching sequence, the drive element moves in the predefined drive direction, so that the drivetrain arrangement engages and drives the catch in a closing direction to a primary closed position. During a release sequence, the drive element may move in the predefined drive direction, so that the drivetrain arrangement engages and drives the pawl in a release direction to a release state. During the release sequence, the drive element moves in the predefined drive direction, so that the drivetrain arrangement moves to a clearance state, such that the pawl is in a release state and the catch may pivot to an open position drivetrain.

  • Publication number: 20200024874
Abstract: A motor vehicle lock has a pawl and a catch that may be moved into an open position, a preliminary latching position and a main latching position. In one of the latching positions, the catch is or may be brought into holding engagement with a lock striker. In the installed state, during a cinching routine, the catch is moved into its main latching position by a cinching drive. A spring biased freewheel mechanism, which is limited to a freewheel distance, is provided between the cinching drive and the catch. With the reaction force of the catch exceeding a predefined level, the cinching drive freewheels with respect to the catch against the spring bias of the freewheel mechanism, until the freewheel distance is reached and the freewheel mechanism is interlocked for force transmission.

  • Publication number: 20200024875
Abstract: A motor vehicle lock has a paw and a catch that may be moved into an open position, a preliminary latching position and a main latching position. In one latching position, that catch is or may be brought into holding engagement with a lock striker. During a cinching routine, the catch is moved into its main latching position by a cinching drive. An overload clutch with two clutch elements is provided in the drive train between the cinching drive and the catch. The clutch elements are in engagement with each other for the transmission of cinching forces. The engagement is load dependent in a beginning section of the cinching routine, such that the engagement and thereby the overload clutch, is disconnected in reaction to exceeding a predefined limit load in the drive train. The engagement is load independent in the remaining, subsequent section of the cinching routine.

  • Patent number: 10508475
Abstract: A lock can include a catch and a pawl. The catch can be brought into an opening position and a closed position. The catch can be brought into holding engagement with a lock striker. The pawl may be brought into a position, where it is in blocking engagement with the catch. The pawl may be deflected into a release position. A pawl actuation lever is provided. A switchable lock arrangement in an unlocked state can be included. A first drive train component is decoupled from the pawl for letting the pawl actuation lever run free without deflecting the pawl or a first drive train component is blocked for blocking an actuation of the pawl actuation lever. A crash condition causes the switchable lock arrangement to be in the locked state such that during the crash condition a crash induced actuation of the pawl actuation lever runs free or is blocked.

  • Publication number: 20190145133
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a motor vehicle lock, wherein the motor vehicle lock comprises an actuating lever which is pivotable about an actuating lever axis. The motor vehicle lock has an adjustable crash element which is adjustable into a released position in which the locking pawl is disengageable by an actuation of the actuating lever and into a crash position in which the crash element blocks the actuating lever in a blocked position or decouples the actuating lever from the locking pawl. It is proposed that the crash element is coupled to the actuating lever such that, with an actuation of the actuating lever and depending on the actuating lever speed, the crash element reaches the released position from a central position either in a first adjusting direction or the crash element reaches the crash position in a second adjusting direction and is latched in the crash position.
