Abstract: The invention relates to a dust retaining and filtering device which can be attached to a dust generating tool, for controlling the spread of dust and other particulate matter generated by grinding, sanding, polishing, burnishing and buffing devices. The device comprises a resilient skirt which curves outwardly along its bottom edge; a filter extending along the length of the skirt; means for mounting the filter along the length of the skirt and attachment means for securing the device to the dust generating tool.
