    Abstract: A connector for severed pipes in a wellbore has an elongated tubular mandrel, a sealing pack-off ring mounted on the mandrel, an activator ring for pressing against the pack-off ring and causing the pack-off ring to seal an interior of a casing above a shut-off valve. A grapple member is slidable mounted on the mandrel above the activator ring; the grapple member has an enlarged diameter plate, which rests on an upper edge of a severed casing. A production pipe, control lines abd production casing can be lowered through the large opening in the mandrel and re-establish connection with the severed casing and production pipes.

    Abstract: A magnetic tool for retrieving metal objects from a wellbore has a plurality of magnet assemblies spaced longitudinally along a tool body. Each magnet assembly has a plurality of magnet members covering a majority surface area of the tool body. Each magnet member has a magnet body and a shield encasing the magnet body and protecting the individual magnet body from striking force created by the attracted metal particles. The shield is preferably made from a non-ferrous material and allows concentration of the magnetic force away from the tool body and into the casing annulus.

    Abstract: A casing brush tool for cleaning interior walls of a well bore casing. The brush tool has a free rotating sleeve mounted on a mandrel with bearings mounted between the sleeve and the mandrel to facilitate rotation. The sleeve carries a plurality of non-axial rows of bristles that are arranged to wind in a spiral, or helical fashion from one end of the sleeve to the other end. When moved in and out of the casing, the spiral rows of bristles cause rotation of the sleeve and by contacting the walls of the casing, clean the casing of the extraneous matter. A casing brush assembly may incorporate one or more of the brush tools. If more than one brush tool is used, it is preferred to use the sleeves having opposite direction of bristle rows such that the sleeves rotate in opposite directions when lowered into the well bore or retrieved from the casing.

    Abstract: A cleanout system and method for removal of metal debris from a fluid flow, such a flow of re-circulated drilling mud employs one or more magnetic unit positioned in the path of the fluid for collecting metal particles from the flow. The magnetic unit has a removable magnet core positioned in a non-magnetic sleeve. When the core is removed from the sleeve the attracted metal particles are allowed to drop from the sleeve under gravity to facilitate their collection and disposal. A fluid deflector is positioned upstream from each magnetic unit, protecting the magnetic unit from direct impact by the strong flow. The magnetic units are allowed to pivot from side-to-side and adjust their position in the flow.

    Abstract: An anchor assembly for a downhole tool has upper and lower frictional engagement member for engaging with an inner wall of the casing. The upper frictional members are spring-tensioned, while the lower frictional engagement members slide, to certain degrees, in relation to a longitudinal axis of the anchor assembly. At the same time conical engagement between the lower frictional members and the supporting surface causes the lower frictional members to extend outwardly and engage the inner surface of the casing. As a result, the working tool, for instance a sand cutter secured to the anchor assembly is stabilized in the casing, and an even cut may be performed.

    Abstract: Casing cutter for severing multiple tubulars in a well bore has a pair of cutter blades pivotally mounted on a support body. The blades are pivotally mounted for gradual movement outside of the support body when downward force is applied to proximate ends of the cutter blades. The support body is rotated inside the innermost of the multiple tubulars, while the cutter blades sever the tubulars of progressively increasing diameter.
