  • Patent number: 12135782
Abstract: A system includes a processor and a storage device containing instructions. Execution of the instructions causes the processor to: (1) connect with an onboard system of a vehicle, wherein the onboard system is connectable to a network; (2) collect an activity log generated by the onboard system, wherein the activity log includes log messages indicative of an activity of the onboard system; (3) extract a feature list from the activity log, wherein the feature list includes features and each one of the features includes select information from a corresponding one of the log messages; (4) extract an episode from the feature list, wherein the episode is indicative of the activity of the onboard system; and (5) classify the episode with an episode classification, wherein the episode classification is indicative of an event that occurred during the activity.

  • Patent number: 11393349
Abstract: A method for air traffic control (ATC) radio communications authentication, includes receiving, by an aircraft, an ATC voice communication from an ATC facility. The method also includes receiving, by the aircraft, authentication data from the ATC facility substantially contemporaneously with the ATC voice communication. The authentication data is associated with the ATC voice communication. The method further includes authenticating the ATC voice communication using the authentication data.

  • Patent number: 10756808
Abstract: Provided are methods and systems for transmission of terrestrial data between aircraft and ground-based systems using broadband over power line (BPL) communication channels. These channels are established based on authentication of biometric data. Specifically, a biometric module, positioned on an aircraft or a gate, receives biometric data from a user and then authenticates this data based on available reference data. The authentication results are used by a BPL module to establish (or not establish) a BPL communication channel. The BPL communication channel is established through an electrical power cable connecting the aircraft to the gate. Furthermore, the BPL communication channel is established through at least a portion of the onboard electrical power distribution system of the aircraft. The terrestrial data, e.g., aircraft control data, in-flight entertainment data, and/or airplane information system data, is then transmitted through this BPL communication channel.

  • Patent number: 10707918
Abstract: Provided are methods and systems for on-ground communication using an electrical power distribution system of an aircraft. Specifically, two broadband over power line (BPL) communication modules are communicatively coupled to an electrical power distribution system of an aircraft at different locations. A communication-initiation request is transmitted between these modules and, in some examples, is used to establish communication between the modules. In more specific examples, the receiving module determines received parameters of the communication-initiation request, which depend, at least in part, on characteristics of the electrical power distribution system. The received parameters are compared with expected parameters, and an operating indication of the electrical power distribution system is generated based on this comparison. In some examples, the operating indication is used to verify configuration of the electrical power distribution system (e.g., during aircraft assembly), service requirements (e.
