  • Publication number: 20240026614
Abstract: An edge restraint system for pavers includes two or more interlocking edge restraints, a spike, and optionally, a grid clip. The interlocking edge restraints each have a vertical member and a horizontal member buttressed by a gusset. The horizontal member has a first engagement area having a first alignment button, a second alignment button, and a first spike aperture. The horizontal member has a second engagement area having a first alignment button aperture, a second alignment button aperture and a second spike aperture. The first and second interlocking edge restraints may be coupled together at the first and second engagement areas, and secured to the ground by inserting a spike and, optionally, a grid clip, screws, and a geogrid. The overall system can be cut to fit varying sized pathways, patios, driveways, and roads and features increased resistance to movement and pull-out resistance that mitigate the effects of soil displacement.

  • Publication number: 20090013597
Abstract: A paver restraint comprises an extruded length of plastic that has a general cross-sectional shape of an ell or an angle iron, having a generally flat upwardly extending upper rectangular section and a lower or second rectangular section extending substantially perpendicularly from the lower edge of the upper section along the length of the upper section. A plurality of openings are formed in the lower rectangular section, with the openings being spaced from each other so that the legs of elongate, u-shaped staples can be received through adjacent slots or openings and driven into the ground to securely hold the paver restraint in position on the ground.

  • Patent number: 5975500
Abstract: A fence post and support base are made of cast concrete. The base has a substantially planar bottom and an upper surface that is essentially parallel with the bottom of the base. The post extends substantially perpendicular from the upper surface of the base. The planar bottom surface of the base has a substantially larger area than the area encompassed by the interface between the post and the upper surface of the base so that the base provides a sturdy, support for the post. The base and the post are preferably cast as separate members, and a connecting mechanism is provided for interconnecting the post with the base.

  • Patent number: 5598679
Abstract: A cast concrete block that is cast on its side and can be separated into at least three construction blocks to be used in constructing a retaining wall system. The cast concrete block has a top face and a bottom face. The block is bounded by an elongate base side, two elongate edge sides and an elongate top side. First and second elongate splitting grooves are formed in at least one of the top face and bottom face. The splitting grooves extend between the top side and the base side. The splitting grooves are spaced inwardly from the opposite first and second edge sides. Preferably, each of the splitting grooves are paired with a corresponding secondary groove in an opposite face of the block so that each splitting groove and its corresponding secondary groove are parallel with each other and lie in a common plane that is substantially perpendicular to the broad faces of the block.
