Abstract: An apparatus comprises a processing platform configured for characterization, provisioning and access of data set virtual neighborhoods. The processing platform comprises a virtual neighborhood describer, a virtual neighborhood provisioner and a virtual neighborhood visitor. The virtual neighborhood describer is configured to generate characterizations of data set virtual neighborhoods responsive to one or more requirements, such as specified or derived requirements, or combinations thereof. The virtual neighborhood provisioner is configured to utilize the characterizations to generate provisioned data set virtual neighborhoods responsive to one or more corresponding provisioning requests.

Abstract: An apparatus comprises a processing platform implementing a unified framework for representation and processing of trigger, context, action and result (TCAR) associations and constituent elements thereof in relation to customer communications in an enterprise. The processing platform comprises a TCAR mapper, a TCAR reasoner, a TCAR action commander, and a TCAR repository. The TCAR mapper is configured to capture events and transmogrify corresponding TCAR associations for storage in the TCAR repository. The TCAR reasoner is configured to perform one or more reasoning operations over selected ones of the TCAR associations stored in the TCAR repository. The TCAR action commander is configured to orchestrate one or more actions determined at least in part by the one or more reasoning operations performed by the TCAR reasoner. A given one of the TCAR associations includes as its constituent elements a trigger, context, an action and a result, and may contain additional related information.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for database migration. Source databases are migrated to a target data environment by receiving a user selection of one or more of the source databases; receiving a user selection of a target data environment profile; receiving a user selection of one or more storage options for the target data environment; and providing the user with an assessment of whether one or more of the selected source databases can be one or more of migrated and consolidated to the selected target data environment. A user can specify a backup and recovery profile for the migrated database. Metadata affinity can optionally be analyzed for a plurality of the selected source databases to identify an affinity correlation across the selected source databases. Scripts and/or transform blueprints can be generated for the selected target data environment (optionally based on rule-based best practices).

Abstract: An apparatus comprises a profiled data object service manager configured to generate at least one profiled data object service instantiation responsive to an invocation by a profiled data object service user. The profiled data object service manager comprises a profiled data object service reasoner configured to parse the user invocation, to map the parsed user invocation to one or more relevant profiled data objects using profiles of respective profiled data objects and relationships among multiple profiled data objects, to select one or more services to be instantiated based on the relevant profiled data objects, and to generate one or more instantiable service invocations for the one or more selected services. Additional functionality of the profiled data object service manager may comprise one or more of policy enforcement, service instantiation and service orchestration. The service manager is implemented using at least one processing device comprising a processor coupled to a memory.

Abstract: An analytics controller is configured for communication with one or more data sources. The analytics controller comprises an analytic data focus representation module and a visualization generator coupled to the analytic data focus representation module, with the analytic data focus representation module being configured to derive a plurality of analytic data focus representations from the one or more data sources, and the visualization generator being configured to generate visualizations based at least in part on the analytic data focus representations. At least one of the analytic data focus representation module and the visualization generator may be further configured to establish a plurality of linkages with each such linkage associating one or more of the representations with one or more of the visualizations. The analytics controller may be part of a data management system implemented using one or more processing devices of a processing platform.

Abstract: In one aspect, an apparatus for integrating dynamic recognition of complex events with case-based processing comprises at least one processing platform. The processing platform comprises at least one server, computer or other processing device having a processor coupled to a memory. The processing platform implements a plurality of modules for integration of dynamic recognition of complex events with case-based processing, the modules comprising at least a complex event processing module and a case-based processing module coupled to the complex event processing module. Event recognition in the complex event processing module triggers one or more case-based activities in the case-based processing module. The plurality of modules may further include an event preprocessing module, a proactive risk assessment and forecasting module, and a temporal associative reasoning module.

In at least one embodiment, a method and system may comprise receiving a management operation request at a recommendation service. Based on the management operation request and recommendation control policies, management operation recommendations associated with an information management system are determined. In at least one embodiment, a method and system may comprise receiving information associated with an information management system at a learning service. Based on the information, dimensions of a situational state space characterizing operating conditions of the information management system are determined. Best practices for at least one state of the situational state space are determined.
