  • Publication number: 20240382873
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to devices and fluid delivery systems for separating a gas from a fluid. A fluid source contains a fluid having a liquid and a gas. A fluid destination receives fluid from the fluid source. Supply lines fluidly connect the fluid source to the fluid destination and convey the fluid from the fluid source to the fluid destination at a flow rate. A gas removal device is fluidly connected to the supply lines between the fluid source and the fluid destination. The gas removal device separates the gas from the fluid without restricting the flow rate of the fluid through the supply lines.

  • Publication number: 20240382872
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to devices and fluid delivery systems for separating a gas from a fluid. The device includes a filter and a body. The body defines an interior and the filter is within the interior and segments the interior into a first chamber and a second chamber. The device includes an inlet for communicating the fluid into the first chamber; a first outlet for communicating the fluid out of the first chamber; and a second outlet for communicating the gas out of the second chamber. The filter is impermeable to liquid and isolates the second chamber from liquid. The filter is permeable to gas and permits the gas to flow from the first chamber to the second chamber to separate the gas from the liquid of the fluid.

  • Publication number: 20210106769
Abstract: An air removal device for an intravenous fluid system includes a housing with an inlet for fluid communication with a fluid source, a fluid outlet for fluid communication with a blood vessel of a patient, and an air outlet. The air removal device further includes a disrupting element disposed within the housing in a flow path between the inlet and the fluid outlet, and an air chamber in fluid communication with the air outlet. The disrupting element includes a protrusion extending across the flow path. The flow path includes a first cross-sectional flow area at the inlet, and a second cross-sectional flow area at the protrusion. The second cross-sectional flow area is smaller than the first cross-sectional flow area.
