    Abstract: Described are methods and compositions for processes of preparing a radioactive solution of Sn-117m tetraiodide. Aspects include reacting a radioactive solid Sn containing Sn-117m with a solution of I2 in an organic solvent at a temperature and for a duration sufficient to result in the formation of Sn-117m tetraiodide. Then, the organic solvent is removed by evaporation to leave dry Sn-117m tetraiodide. The organic solvent is a low boiling point solvent capable of dissolving I2 and Sn tetraiodide. The organic solvent is selected from the group consisting of an alcohol and a chlorinated solvent. In embodiments may be selected from the group consisting of dichloromethane, trichloromethane, tetrachloromethane, or mixtures thereof. In embodiments, the organic solvent excludes alcohol. The I2 may be in a slight molar excess to the radioactive solid Sn. The method may further include distilling the reactants to remove excess I2 from the distillate.

    Abstract: A method of beneficiating coal in a dry process includes separating raw coal from a coal mine into coal fines and larger pieces of coal using pressurized air, separating the larger pieces of coal according to size, removing ash from the larger pieces of coal on an air table, and further removing ash from the larger pieces of coal using a size-discriminating device to obtain a beneficiated coal product. The invention also includes an apparatus for the dry beneficiation of coal. The apparatus includes at least one air separating device, at least one air table, and at least one first and second shakers which separate the coal by size and remove ash from the coal. The air table effectively removes ash from infed coal without the need for a fluidizing media.

    Abstract: The present golf ball catching funnel is comprised of a horizontal frame, a funnel-shaped sheet suspended within the frame, and legs elevating the frame and sheet off the ground. The frame is adapted to be positioned against the front of a golf ball driving net for catching golf balls as they drop from the net. Detachable fasteners along a rear edge of the sheet secure the golf ball catching funnel against the driving net, and thus prevent the golf balls from falling between the catching funnel and the driving net. A resilient tube with a longitudinal split is clipped around a front edge of the frame for preventing the golf balls from rolling off as they bounce back from the driving net. A hole is provided in the sheet for directing the golf balls into a bucket below to stretch taut the sheet and generally smooth out any wrinkles and ripples which might prevent the golf balls from rolling toward said hole.
