  • Patent number: 9867190
Abstract: A method for improving LTE connectivity in known trouble areas is disclosed. The method includes receiving, at an eNodeB, a communication message from a mobile device and determining a first timing advance (TA) information associated with the communication message received from the mobile device. Based on the first TA information it is determined if the mobile device is located in an area susceptible to a communication failure. Upon determining that the mobile device is located in the area susceptible to the communication failure, messages are temporality transmitted from the eNodeB to the mobile device at an increased power level.

  • Patent number: 9549410
Abstract: Interference mitigation methods and systems are provided. A base station obtains physical channel information of a transmission signaled in a first frequency band between the base station and at least one user equipment (UE) associated with the base station. The transmission corresponds to at least one of an uplink communication or a downlink communication. An interference mitigation controller compares the obtained physical channel information to a predetermined interference condition, to identify a presence of interference in the transmission. A second frequency band different from the first frequency band is selected, responsive to the identified presence of interference. The base station sends an instruction to the at least one UE associated with the base station to signal using the selected second frequency band. At least one of the first frequency band and the second frequency band includes a Long Term Evolution (LTE) band.

  • Patent number: 9405465
Abstract: Systems and methods for keypad button resizing are disclosed. In some implementations, a keypad including multiple characters is displayed on a display of a touchscreen device. A selection of one of the multiple characters on the keypad is received. For each character in the multiple characters on the keypad, a likelihood value that the character is a next character to be typed is predicted and a button size for the character is selected based on the predicted likelihood value. The keypad is modified based on the selected button size for each character. The modified keypad is displayed on the display of the touchscreen device.
