  • Publication number: 20220381477
Abstract: A heating device, and a method of manufacturing the device, comprises an electrically conductive heating foam, a current conducting foam and two electrodes. The heating foam is divided by interruptions into sections, providing a predefined current path extending from a current lead-in point to a current lead-out point. The electrodes are electrically connected to the current lead-in and lead-out points, respectively, wherein the heating foam is provided on an outside at least in sections with the current conducting foam forming current conducting sections that electrically connect sections of the heating foam to one another. The current lead-in or lead-out point is provided as a connection section of the current conducting foam and extends in a circumferential direction along at least one current conducting section, but is electrically insulated therefrom. The two electrodes are spaced apart from one another in the circumferential direction by less than 180 degrees.

  • Publication number: 20220195904
Abstract: An exhaust gas treatment device for a motor vehicle has a housing, which defines an exhaust gas duct through which the exhaust gas flows, and an electric heating device which extends through the exhaust gas duct and through which exhaust gas flows. The electric heating device has a heating component attached to a carrier structure, the heating component being attached to the carrier structure, and first and second electrodes which are attached to the heating device and make electrical contact with the heating device. The first electrode extends as far as into a central region of the heating device, and the second electrode extends as far as into an edge region of the heating device, as viewed in the exhaust gas flow direction in the exhaust gas duct.

  • Patent number: 11365669
Abstract: An exhaust system component of a motor vehicle includes a gas-carrying housing, a heat shield seated on an outside of the housing, and at least one wire mesh provided at least partly between the heat shield and the housing. The wire mesh includes a first attachment point and a second attachment point. The heat shield is attached to the housing via the wire mesh, and the wire mesh is attached to both the heat shield, via the first attachment point, and to the housing via the second attachment point. The first attachment point is separate from the second attachment point.

  • Publication number: 20220186647
Abstract: A heating device for an exhaust system has an electrically conductive foamed part and at least one stabilization part for the foamed part. The foamed part includes two end faces, an outer circumference and at least one recess starting from the outer circumference and extending in the axial direction from one to the other end face. The recesses produce sections which are opposite each other at a distance and continue into each other, forming a current path as a resistance heating element. The stabilization part at least partially fills the recess and mechanically couples the sections to each other, but does not electrically couple them to each other.

  • Publication number: 20220174787
Abstract: A heating device for an exhaust system has an electrically conductive heating component through which exhaust gas to be treated can flow and which is formed by one or more current-carrying lines forming a current path in the form of a resistance heating element. In addition, the heating device has at least one stabilization part which extends over at least a portion of the heating component, is arranged so as to be offset in the flow direction in relation to the heating component, and is mechanically coupled to the heating component in order to stabilize the latter in the flow direction.

  • Patent number: 11125135
Abstract: A modular system for exhaust heat recovery devices has heat exchangers which differ by different external dimensions, in particular different cross-sections, and identically configured exhaust gas carrying housings into each of which one of the heat exchangers can be introduced. Various tubular adapters are adapted to the external dimensions of the heat exchangers and are used to fasten the associated heat exchanger at its connection ends to the exhaust gas carrying housing. Furthermore, a tubular adapter for a corresponding modular system and a vehicle which has a corresponding exhaust heat recovery device are provided.

  • Publication number: 20210262422
Abstract: A heat exchanger housing for an exhaust gas heat recovery system or an exhaust gas cooler of a motor vehicle includes a first housing shell, which forms a side wall of the heat exchanger housing and at least one end piece that is on at least one end face of the first housing shell that delimits the heat exchanger housing. Both the first housing shell and the at least one end piece have an end face, and the end faces are directly opposite each other. A second housing shell forms several side walls of the heat exchanger housing. The first and second housing shells are soldered to one another and to the at least one end piece. Furthermore, a method for producing a heat exchanger is specified.
