In certain embodiments, this invention is directed to a blend of high T9 latex (substantially non-film forming) and ultrafine kaolin. This invention is also directed to a paper comprising a fiber matrix and a coating or binding composition comprising an aqueous emulsion which comprises a copolymer deviced from one or more monomers, and an ultrafine kaolin pigment.
