  • Publication number: 20240020969
Abstract: An aerial and/or satellite imagery-based, optical system and corresponding method for measuring physical impacts to land-based objects by impact measurands in case of an occurrence of a natural catastrophe event, the natural catastrophe event impacting the objects causing a physical damage. The method and system comprise the steps of capturing by remote airborne and/or spaceborne sensors digital aerial and/or satellite imagery and/or photography of an area affected by the natural catastrophe event and generating a digital natural catastrophe event footprint with a topographical map of the natural catastrophe event based on the captured digital satellite imagery. Finally, parametrizing, by an adaptive vulnerability curve structure, impact measurands for selected objects based on the measured topographical map and generating an impact measurand value for each of the land-based objects based on an event intensity measured by the natural catastrophe event footprint using the vulnerability curve structure.

  • Publication number: 20160144549
Abstract: The invention discloses a slot die (10) for an extrusion device for the extrusion of preforms (1) in web or strip form from thermoplastic material which comprises a die gap (11) extending transversely to a direction of extrusion and intended for delivering a preform (1). The slot die (10) is characterized in that it comprises at least one adjusting element (12), which is arranged peripherally in the die gap (11), limits a widthwise extent (SB) of the die gap (11) and is mounted continuously displaceably and/or pivotably with respect to the die gap (11). The widthwise extent (SB) of the die gap (11) is dynamically and continuously variable by displacing and/or pivoting the adjusting element (12), so that a widthwise extent (VB) of a preform (1) extruded from the slot die (10) is continuously and infinitely variable over the length of extrusion thereof.

  • Patent number: 8676972
Abstract: A method and a system for identifying unauthorized accesses to a data network service by a particular node in a data network is disclosed. The NMC communicates with an agent periodically to gather a list of users of the service node. An agent is installed on the service node to monitor all network accesses to the service. By configuring the agent to monitor all access to the service node, through SNMP or a similar protocol, the agent maintains a list of all accesses to that service node. This list is stored internally by the agent and queried for by the NMC periodically. The access information stored by the agent is periodically retrieved by the NMC for all monitored nodes and compared with the authorization list for the node. If unauthorized accesses are found, they are identified by the NMC. These unauthorized accesses can be notified to the appropriate entity in a number of ways such as through paging, email or a report viewable through the NMC.
