  • Publication number: 20210396276
Abstract: A torsion-elastic cardan joint for connecting a shaft with a second component that is not continuously coaxial during torque transmission, which comprises a torsion-elastic power transmission system, a flange connected to this in a torque-proof manner, and a second flange connected to this in a torque-proof manner on the opposite end face of the torsion-elastic power transmission system. The shaft-side flange is coaxially connected to the shaft and the second flange is coaxially connected to the second component in a torque-proof manner. The shaft-side flange consists of a dimensionally stable disk-shaped flange part (1, 10, 12). The shaft is directly connected to this disk-shaped flange part (1, 10, 12) in a torque-proof manner, for example, via friction welding. As a result, there is no need to adapt the shaft-side flange to the dimensions of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 10272520
Abstract: A joint-site structure for components to be connected by overlap friction welding. At least one step of at least one component, on which an axially set-back ring-shaped joining surface is situated, is provided with a radial undercut, in such a manner that on the face side, a region of this step that is unchanged in diameter forms a radial support ridge, which is connected with the at least one component by way of a heat throttle that is reduced in cross-section. The length of each step is designed in such a manner that when the face surface of the one component makes contact with the ring-shaped joining surface of the other component, the other face surfaces of these components, which surfaces lie opposite one another in the same radial position, are still exposed until completion of the friction-welding process.

  • Publication number: 20170363152
Abstract: A constant velocity joint includes an external joint part including internal ball tracks, an internal joint part including external ball tracks assigned to the internal ball tracks, and a ball cage holding balls. The external joint part is connectable to a connecting part and sealed by a closure cap on the side facing this connecting part. The internal joint part is an integral internal joint part connected permanently to a shaft piece, sealed on this side towards the external joint part by a flexible sealing element, hardened, and has a protruding welding attachment for an adapter on its free end. The welding attachment outer diameter is larger than the smallest integral internal joint part outer diameter. In a method, the sealing element is mounted over the integral internal joint part free end and connected to the external joint part, the adapter subsequently welded near the welding attachment.
