Patent number: 12292516Abstract: A global navigation satellite system (GNSS) spoofing detection and classification technique is provided. An optimization problem is formulated at the baseband correlator domain by using an optimization algorithm such as the Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) algorithm, for example. A model of correlator tap outputs of the intended received signal is created to form a dictionary of pre-computed waveform functions (e.g., triangle-like-shaped functions). Sparse signal processing can be leveraged to choose a decomposition of pre-computed waveform functions from the dictionary. The optimal solution of this minimization problem can discriminate the presence of a potential spoofing attack peak by observing the decomposition of two different code-phase values (authentic and spoofed) in a sparse vector output. A threshold can be used to mitigate false alarms. Furthermore, a variation of the minimization problem can be provided that enhances the dictionary to a higher resolution.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2022Date of Patent: May 6, 2025Assignee: Board of Regents, The University of Texas SystemInventors: Erick Schmidt Diaz, David Akopian, Nikolaos Gatsis

Publication number: 20250133886Abstract: Solid-state lighting devices, and more particularly, symmetrical lead frame structures for two-pin light emitting diode (LED) packages and methods for making the same are disclosed. The symmetrical lead frame structure can include a pair of leads that include symmetrical split cup portions that collectively, when placed next to each other, form a cup, across which an LED flip-chip can be placed. Each of the leads can be a respective electrode powering the LED flip-chip, which together with the symmetrical structure, provides a more even light emission profile and far-field pattern. A molded lens can be formed around the lead frame to protect the chip, as well as maintain a gap between the pair of leads of the lead frame structure. In some embodiments, a fill material can be added in the gap between the pair of leads.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2023Publication date: April 24, 2025Inventors: Robert David Schmidt, Joseph M. Publication number: 20250119285Abstract: Symmetric key exchange via TLS on CAN bus interface for multiple devices. The key exchange is configured to elect a master PCA pump for a CAN bus network and prevent two PCA pumps from being master. Upon joining the CAN bus network PCA pumps exchange their MAC IDs with the PCA pumps in the CAN bus network. Once a bootstrap timeout ends, each PCA pump compares all MAC IDs to determine if it should advance to the voting stage. If the PCA pump has the lowest MAC ID, the PCA pump enters the voting stage. During the voting stage, the PCA pump sends master requests prompts to all the PCA pumps in the network. If the PCA pump's internal vote counter reaches a count of three the PCA pump becomes key master.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 4, 2024Publication date: April 10, 2025Inventors: Michael John Stelzner, David Schmidt, Subbaiah Patibandla

Publication number: 20250102626Abstract: A method of detecting ghost objects in sensor measurements of an environment of a vehicle involves obtaining map context information from a digital road map. Objects having associated attributes are recognized in an environment of the vehicle, and social context information of the objects in relation to one another is generated. All available data of a traffic situation with the vehicle and the objects is stored in a graph structure, having nodes and edges. Relational information is depicted in the graph structure by the edges. Anomalies and patterns are searched for in features of the graph structure while taking the map context information and the social context information into account, whereby ghost objects are classified using recognized anomalies and patterns.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 12, 2022Publication date: March 27, 2025Inventors: Thomas MONNINGER, Julian SCHMIDT, Jan RUPPRECHT, David RABA, Tobias WELZ
