  • Patent number: 10407853
Abstract: A wrong-way vehicle prevention system utilizes a sensor to detect a wrong-way vehicle traveling in a wrong direction on an off-ramp, and activates a disabling portion having a tire-rupture apparatus that ruptures one or more tires of the wrong-way vehicle. An alert portion having a sign, alert lights and/or an audible alert feature may be activated when a wrong-way vehicle is detected and the wrong-way vehicle may stop and turn around before driving over the tire rupture apparatus. The tire rupture apparatus has a rupture plate that extend substantially across the off-ramp and pivots up to raise a rupture portion above the surface of the off-ramp. The rupture portion has a sharp edge that will rupture a tire. The wrong-way vehicle system may alert authorities when a wrong-way vehicle is detected. The wrong-way vehicle prevention system may utilize an integral power supply to enable locating the system in remote areas.

  • Patent number: 10184446
Abstract: A wind turbine system utilizes an air deflector configured inside of an air scoop extending along a circular track around the air deflector to capture the prevailing wind and direct it up through an air rotor. The air rotor is configured with a plurality of fins in the air rotor channel and the flow of air past the fins spins the air rotor. A rotor of an electrical generator is coupled with the air rotor and spins with respect to a stator, fixed to the wind turbine frame, to produce electricity. The air scoop rotates about the wind turbine as a function of the prevailing wind and may be controlled by a controller that is coupled with one or more of the wheels of the air scoop. A plurality of baffles may be configured under the fins to direct the air and over the fins.

  • Patent number: 10010206
Abstract: A hanger organizer has a hanger portion with a rod hook that suspends the hanger organizer from a closest rod. An extension from the rod hook extends to a coupler portion from which a first and second hanger retainer arm extends. The first and second hanger retainer arms extend in opposing direction and have a bend that leads to the arms for retaining the hanger loop ends. A hanger hook retainer which may be a receptacle extends out perpendicularly to the vertical axis of the hanger organizer for hooking a clothes hanger there around. A plurality of ties may be placed in the receptacle and used to synch around a plurality of hangers for return to the dry-cleaners.

  • Publication number: 20120145848
Abstract: A pier cap comprises a support rail engaging surface and a mounting cleat disposed on the support rail engaging surface. The mounting cleat comprises a substantially round-shaped section coupled to the support rail engaging surface and a substantially wedge-shaped prong section elevated above the support rail engaging surface. A notched section of the mounting cleat defines a space between the support rail engaging surface and the substantially wedge-shaped prong section. The notched section is configured to receive a mounting flange coupled to a support rail of a support structure for a solar panel array.

  • Patent number: 5785420
Abstract: Portable metering and mixing apparatus includes a trailer having a hopper thereon divided into two compartments, one compartment for sand material and another compartment for cementitious material. Screw conveyor assemblies, or auger assemblies, receive the materials and convey the materials to a mixer assembly. Different embodiments are disclosed. One embodiment includes a mixing chamber aligned with an auger assembly and to which the mixing chamber materials are fed directly. Another embodiment discloses a separate mixer assembly to which the materials are conveyed by a pair of auger assemblies.

  • Patent number: 5624018
Abstract: Aluminum can recycling and coupon dispenser apparatus includes a housing having a front door and a can receiving slot on the front of the door. Cans fall onto a conveyor belt which transmits or transports the cans to a conduit through which aluminum cans fall to a crusher. Ferrous cans remain on the conveyor held by magnetic elements and are pushed off the conveyor and are discarded. After being crushed for recycling, the cans are transported upwardly by a moving air stream to the upper portion of the housing and the cans fall rearwardly and downwardly to a storage bin where they remain until the bin is transported out of the apparatus. The storage bin may be removed intact and replaced by another storage bin. All of the active elements are secured to the door. The door is pivoted to remove the storage bin containing the crushed cans. Information is displayed while the can crushing is being accomplished and coupons are dispensed in response to user input on a keypad.

  • Patent number: 5624183
Abstract: Portable metering and mixing apparatus includes a trailer having a hopper thereon divided into two compartments, one compartment for aggregate and another compartment for cementitious material. An auger receives aggregate from one compartment and feeds aggregate into a mixing compartment where cementitious material is added, and the resulting mixture is then delivered as required. Metering elements meter the aggregate and the cementitious material as desired, and the metered aggregate and cementitious material are mixed in a mixing chamber. A metering sleeve over the auger insures that only the metered amount of aggregate is conveyed by the auger to the mixing chamber. A second embodiment utilizes only a single hopper which contains premixed aggregate and cementitious material, and the premix is fed to the auger through a metering sleeve. Water is added to the material while in the auger and prior to the mixing chamber.

  • Patent number: 5239920
Abstract: Can crusher apparatus includes a cylindrical housing and a can receiving slot in a lower portion of the cylindrical housing. Cans fall into a conveyor belt which transmits or transports the cans to a conduit which conveys the cans upwardly and to a crusher. Ferrous cans remain in the conveyor by magnetic elements and move off the conveyor and are discarded. After being crushed, the cans are transported upwardly by air pressure or a moving air stream to the upper portion of the housing where they remain until they are transported out of the apparatus. The cans are moved out of the apparatus by air pressure which is the exhaust portion of the air pressure applied to the conduit which transports the cans from the conveyor to the crusher.
