A spacer, disposed between the frame member and the shield member, is formed of a flexible foam material and has a convexly curved front surface. The face shield assembly also includes a neck guard attached to an outer edge portion of the shield member at peripheral side and lower portions thereof. The neck guard is formed of a flexible fabric material configured to permit passage of air therethrough and having an elastic band attached to a free edge portion thereof. The assembly is configured to fit over and accommodate eyeglasses worn by a user.
