Abstract: The invention relates to transgenic plants exhibiting increased cell wall content. In one embodiment, transgenic plants engineered to over-express fructokinase (FRK) or both FRK and sucrose synthase (SuSy) are provided. The FRK+SuSy double-transgenic plants of the invention consistently exhibit enhanced cell wall polymer deposition.

Abstract: The present invention relates to lipid compounds and uses thereof. In particular, the compounds include a class of cationic lipids having an amine moiety, such as an amino-amine or an amino-amide moiety. The lipid compounds are useful for in vivo or in vitro delivery of one or more agents (e.g., a polyanionic payload or an antisense payload, such as an RNAi agent).

Abstract: A surgical drape allows access to a vaginal area during cesarean sections without breaking a sterile field. The drape comprises a base sheet defined by an incision panel that overlays a peritoneal region, where the cesarean section primarily occurs; and a vagina panel that overlays a vaginal area. The incision panel has a transparent polymer film panel for viewing the incision. A collection pouch catches bodily fluids. The vagina panel enables sterile manipulation of the vagina while performing the cesarean section. The vagina panel is defined by a viewing pane for viewing the vaginal region through the base sheet. A sleeve extends through a hole in the viewing pane to manipulate the vaginal region and a baby. The sleeve is configured to allow insertion of a hand through an open end, and then manipulate the vaginal region with a closed end without breaking a sterile field.

Abstract: The described invention relates to methods for preventing or treating graft-versus-host disease while preserving a graft-versus-tumor effect, increasing survival of, preserving alloreactivity, or a combination thereof in a patient with a tumor receiving a transplant. The described methods comprise administering to the patient a therapeutic amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a Rho kinase inhibitor compound, e.g., telmisartan or related angiotensin receptor blockers, and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient. The therapeutic amount may be effective to attenuate graft-versus-host disease and to preserve the graft-versus-tumor effect of the transplant.

The conduit preferably comprises a substantially planar surface formed by individual table sections that fold out to form the conduit when the laundry transfer apparatus is in use. The conduit is slidably engaged to the frame via a railing. When use of the laundry transfer apparatus is complete, the individual sections are folded upright and pushed into a retracted position for later use.

Abstract: A system for bootstrap provisioning of a device is provided. A vouching device is provisioned to access a bootstrap account of a bootstrap account provider and a secondary account of a secondary account provider. The bootstrap account provider stores an indication of the secondary account, and the secondary account provider stores verification data to verify a certification of the vouching device. A target device is provisioned to access the bootstrap account of the bootstrap account provider. The target device receives from the bootstrap account provider an indication that the target device is provisioned with the secondary account provider. The target device directs generation of a certification by the vouching device of target authentication data of the target device. The target device then sends the certification to the secondary account provider to effect the provisioning of the target device to access the secondary account.

Abstract: A method for telephony includes receiving at an Internet telephony service provider a subscriber request to place a call to a telephone number. A cache associated with the internet telephony service provider is queried to check if the cache holds a record for the telephone number. If the cache holds the record, the record is obtained. If the cache does not hold the record, a request is sent to a database server that maintains a database of records associating endpoint user terminal telephone numbers of subscribers with respective packet network addresses of the endpoint user terminal. The call is placed to the endpoint user terminal telephone number via a public switched telephone network whilst the request is sent to the database server to retrieve the packet network address of the endpoint user terminal to which calls to the telephone number should be placed.

Abstract: The present invention includes various embodiments of a mobile app remote virtualization system and process that enables users of remote client devices to control mobile apps running in a host server environment. The resulting user experience is practically equivalent to running native mobile apps, even when such mobile apps require access to local client device resources, as well as when native versions of such mobile apps do not exist for the user's client device. The functionality afforded by the mobile app remote virtualization system and process of the present invention enables a variety of novel scenarios and “use cases” that have not previously been available to mobile device users.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides high-performance immunoreagents for use in a variety of immunologic assays and other related techniques. The immunoreagents comprise a primary antibody and a bridging antigen, wherein the bridging antigen is recognized by a detectable secondary antibody with high affinity. Also provided are compositions comprising panels of immunoreagents specific for multiple different target antigens and compositions comprising pairs of primary immunoreagents and their complementary detectable secondary antibodies. The paired primary immunoreagents and secondary antibodies are useful in a variety of immunologic assays, particularly in highly multiplexed assays, where the structure of the bridging antigen is varied in tandem with variation in the detectable secondary antibody, such that a multiplicity of immunoreagents are provided that are capable of simultaneously detecting a multiplicity of target antigens in a single assay.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to implementing locale-based sorting and to creating temporary metadata sorting values. In one scenario, a computer system sends a request for a contact list, where the request includes an indication of the user's locale. The contact list includes contact information for contacts of a specified user. The computer system receives the requested contact list, which includes various portions of appended, locale-specific sorting metadata for at least one of the user's contacts' fields. The computer system then sorts the contacts of the contact list according to the selected sorting criterion using the sorting metadata, where the sorting metadata includes a sorting order specific to the user's locale. After the contacts are sorted, the computer system presents the sorted contacts to the user in a user interface.

Abstract: A bone plate system for use in an “open door” laminoplasty procedure, including a bone plate, a first fixation element, and at least one second fixation element. The bone plate is elongated and has a generally curved shape such that the plate has an associated radius of curvature. The plate is sized and dimensioned to span a gap between a pair of bony segments, for example a pair of bony segments constituting a divided lamina. The first and second fixation elements are each configured to securely attach the bone plate to the bony segments.
