    Abstract: An approach is disclosed that receives, at a computer system, a set of biometric data readings pertaining to a user of the system. The biometric data readings are received from biometric sensors that are near the user. After receiving the biometric readings, an audible notification is transmitted to the user. Subsequently, a second set of biometric data readings pertaining to the user from the biometric sensors that are proximate to the user. The first and second sets of biometric data readings are compared with the comparison resulting in a confidence level that the user heard the transmitted audible notification. The audible notification is retransmitted in response to the confidence level being below a threshold not retransmitted in response to the confidence level meeting the threshold indicating that the user heard the first transmission.

    Abstract: A media server generates a pattern using an irregular polygon. A generative model is applied to the irregular polygon to determine padding values at seams between contacting polygons. The media server may perform inpainting using the generative model to inpaint an area of a virtual object using a pattern generated using the irregular polygon. In one example, the media server may use an einstein, an aperiodic monotile, to generate a pattern (e.g., a pattern to fill in petals of a virtual lotus, a three-dimensional forest, etc.) for presentation at a client device (e.g., an augmented reality headset). The media server may generate different patterns based on how a user is interacting with a media application (e.g., the media server may generate a different pattern to target a different breathing rate for a user interacting with a meditation exercise at the client device).

    Abstract: A system adaptively generates a virtual experience inclusive of a virtual agent. The system receives speech text from a constrained machine-learned language model configured to provide adaptive speech for the agent. The system parses the speech text into a plurality of speech units, wherein a speech unit is an atomic unit representative of natural breaks in human speech. The system applies a hashing function to each speech unit to determine a corresponding hash. The system, for each hash, queries a cache database to identify whether the cache database includes a cached hash that matches the queried hash. Responsive to identifying a matching hash to a first queried hash, the system retrieves a first audio byte stored with the matching hash. The system generates a voiceover track for the virtual agent with the first audio byte for presentation to a user.

    Abstract: A virtual reality application adaptively generates a virtual reality experience intended to improve a user's mood. The VR application initializes a virtual reality experience including a virtual agent. The VR application prompts the user to consume a psychedelic compound. In a first time period, the VR application receives a first set of signals indicating a state of the user. The VR application detects a user mood based on the set of signals. The VR application determines that the user mood is different than a target mood. The VR application modifies one or more characteristics of the virtual agent to shift the user mood to the target mood. The VR application can implement a feedback loop to evaluate efficacy of the personalization modification(s) in shifting the user's mood to the target mood. Based on the efficacy, the VR application may implement additional modification(s).
