Abstract: There is described a urological device comprising one or more valves within a valve housing, external to the body when in use, with means for connection to an in-dwelling catheter and a means for connection to a urine collection device for the reduction of Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTI's), the valve characterised by having a higher opening pressure than closing pressure, and the urological device having one or more valves movable from a closed position to an open position in response to applied urological/intra-abdominal pressure; and wherein the device is provided with a vent to prevent siphoning action from the urine collection device; and wherein the valve has a region of coaption and the number of valves is varied to provide opening pressures matched to one or more intra-abdominal pressures in one or more patient groups.

Abstract: A mixing apparatus (130) for a syringe (110), the mixing apparatus comprising a dock (134) configured to receive the syringe and having an agitation component actuator (132) integral to the dock configured for magnetically coupling to an agitation component (136) of a magnetic material located within a chamber of said syringe, and configured for manipulation of said agitation component within said chamber when coupled; wherein the actuator is in the form of a drum having a series of magnets attached thereto offset in relation to one another so as to manipulate said actuation component in a reciprocating motion upon rotation of the drum.

Abstract: There is described a pharmaceutical component-mixing delivery assembly comprising: a first cartridge and a second cartridge; the first and second cartridges being dimensioned so that they are movable relative to one another such that the first cartridge is slidable within the second cartridge from a pre-mixed position to a post-mixed position; the first cartridge comprising a body provided with an outlet end, the first cartridge being fitted with plunger and containing a first pharmaceutical component; the second cartridge comprising a body provided with an inlet end and an outlet end, the second cartridge containing a second pharmaceutical component; and wherein the first and second cartridges are separated by a non-invasive valve component.

Abstract: An infusion package, particularly for coffee, has a container part (12) and a support (14) for the container part. The container part (12) defines two compartments (36, 38) which contains similar amounts of coffee. In one form each end portion of the support (14) has crease lines which facilitate opening of the package for use. Also disclosed is an apparatus and method for making the package.

Abstract: Collating apparatus for stacking generally flat articles comprises a chute on opposite sides of which are two pairs of conveyor bands carrying supports for the articles. The conveyor bands are driven as two diagonally opposite pairs so that the stack builds on the supports of one pair of bands while a preceding stack built on the supports of the other pair of bands is discharged from the chute. The supports carried by the bands also comprise members which act on the completed stack to compress it before it is discharged.
