  • Patent number: 9190773
Abstract: Axially compressible F-connectors for conventional installation tools for interconnection with coaxial cable include radially compressed grounding inserts seated within a body fitted to a nut socket. Each connector has a rigid nut, a post penetrating the nut, a tubular, metallic body, and an end cap. The conductive post coaxially extends through the connectors, linking the nut and body. A post end penetrates the coaxial cable. The nut has an integral, tubular socket at its rear that is engaged by a tubular, metallic connector body. The body front has at least one groove for receiving a peripheral grounding insert, preferably in the form of a coiled spring wrapped around the body, that is radially sandwiched within the nut socket to insure grounding. An end cap press fitted to the assembly coaxially engaging the body, closing the fitting. Internal O-rings may be combined for sealing the connector.

  • Patent number: 9166307
Abstract: An axially compressible F-connector for conventional installation tools for interconnection with coaxial cable includes a rigid nut with a rear skirt forming a socket. A rigid, tubular post penetrates the nut and engages coaxial cable. An internal, slidable sleeve has a plug portion that is adapted to engage and seat within the socket. A tubular end cap completes the assembly. The tubular post coaxially extends through the connector, physically connecting the nut and coaxial cable it engages. However, grounding is insured by portions of the cable sheath that are sandwiched within the socket between the sleeve plug and the nut skirt by sealing O-rings affixed to the sleeve plug.

  • Patent number: 9160083
Abstract: Axially compressible, F-connectors for conventional installation tools for interconnection with coaxial cable include grounding inserts for establishing electrical continuity despite inadequate nut tightening. The connector has a rigid nut, a post penetrating the nut, a tubular body, and an end cap. The conductive post coaxially extends through the connector, linking the nut and body. A post end penetrates the coaxial cable. Internal grounding inserts comprise a circular band coaxially engaging the post and portions on the band engaging the nut. Multiple radially spaced apart spring clips defined around the band grasp a flange portion of the post. The band is seated within a ring groove within the nut, making electrical contact. An alternative insert comprises a tubular band for contacting the post and an integral skirt abutting the nut's internal ring groove and contacting a portion of the socket to which the connector is coupled.

  • Publication number: 20150236466
Abstract: Implementations described and claimed herein provide apparatuses, systems, and methods for creating circuit breakouts within a molded harness to provide electrical energy to several connection points from a single energy source connection point. In one implementation, a component group wire configured to supply electrical power from a source to a component group including a set of target components is terminated. The terminated component group wire is connected to an input terminal of a printed circuit board. The input terminal corresponds to a breakout circuit for the component group. A plurality of component wires are terminated. Each of the component wires correspond to a component in the set of target components. Each of the terminated component wires are connected to an output terminal in the breakout circuit for the component group. The output terminals are electrically connected to the input terminal with conducting traces embedded into the printed circuit board.

  • Publication number: 20150222049
Abstract: Implementations described and claimed herein provide apparatuses, systems, and methods for a quick maintenance of an electrical connector, such as a SAE J560 compliant connector. In one implementation, a connector includes a cable bundling wires extending into a housing having a body extending between a proximal end and a distal end. A distal terminal holder is disposed within an opening of the body at the proximal end. The distal terminal holder has a surface oriented in a direction away from the body. Terminals extend from the surface of the distal terminal holder, and each of the terminals is in electrical communication with one of the wires. Terminal assemblies each have a distal opening into which one of the terminals extends. A proximal terminal holder has terminal openings extending from a distal surface to a proximal surface, and each of the terminal assemblies extends through one of the terminal openings.

  • Publication number: 20150172739
Abstract: A method, system and corresponding components to authenticate a host device are disclosed. In one aspect, an established process for coupling a module and a host device is used, the established process allowing the host device and module to mutually authenticate each other. A third entity, an authentication server, is then used to authenticate the module using an identification stored in the module such as a private key, or other ID information. By virtue of remotely authenticating the module, and the mutual authentication between the module and the host device, the authentication server is able to trust the host device and proceed to a next step, such as providing access rights to the host device to access content.
