  • Patent number: 11631114
Abstract: A system and method for augmenting video displayed via web browser to add interactive functionality is disclosed. Elements are included in a structured media definition to cause the video player to instantiate one or more new elements on a webpage when the media is played, including a first script that includes instructions to generate an interactive menu and second script, such that selection of an option from the interactive menu will call one or more application programming interface (API) functions of the second script. The structured media definition causes loading of the video and execution of the instructions. A server backend receives and processes API calls from the second script and transmits responses to the API calls to be acted upon by the second script.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 11430019
Abstract: A system and method for augmenting video media displayed via web browser to add interactive functionality is disclosed. The method begins with adding elements to a structured media definition to cause the media to instantiate one or more new elements on a webpage when the media is played, including a script that includes instructions to generate an interactive menu, such that selection of any option from the interactive menu will call one or more application programming interface (API) functions provided by a remote server. The structured media definition is transmitted to the web browser to cause it to load a video and execute the instructions. A server backend receives and processes API calls from the script when executed by the web browser; and transmits a response to the API call to the web browser to be acted upon by the script.

  • Publication number: 20150178340
Abstract: An apparatus, method and system to register and provide a persistent identifier of information that may be located in multiple locations, formats, and accessible in variable fashions based on the context of use. The present disclosure further provides the ability to automatically make information available and associated with its identifier. The disclosure also details the ability to create identifier. The disclosure also details the ability to create identifiers from content authoring tools within and for documents and/or other information. The invention teaches how to associate a single identifier while making information available, and accessible under varying conditions, from varying locations, in varying formats, based on various contexts of access. The present disclosure further teaches an enhanced digital object identifier, an enhanced Handle system, and enhanced directory registry that facilitate the access, association, and instantiation of information over a communications network.

  • Publication number: 20150039442
Abstract: The MULTIPLE-RESOLUTION, INFORMATION-ENGINEERED, SELF-IMPROVING ADVERTISING AND INFORMATION ACCESS APPARATUSES, METHODS AND SYSTEMS (“MISAIA”) transforms content and content identifier inputs via MISAIA components into self-engineered, self-improving advertisements and information accessing unique persistent universal name identifier (UPUNI) outputs. MISAIA receives a request for a unique persistent universal name identifier (UPUNI) from a requesting client accessing content, obtains an UPUNI menu specification, if the UPUNI menu specification exists, obtains UPUNI record information from an UPUNI directory, generates an UPUNI menu specification from metadata in the UPUNI directory, if one is unavailable, stores the UPUNI menu specification, in the UPUNI directory, in an UPUNI syndicator, generates an UPUNI menu from the UPUNI menu specification, and provides via a processor the UPUNI menu to the requesting client that is responsive to the request.
