Publication number: 20250126170Abstract: Networking systems and methods for establishing and maintaining virtual computing clouds are disclosed. A networking system can comprise a server and various instances of a software agent, each agent being installed on a computing device participating in a virtual computing cloud. The server can maintain account setting for a user, wherein the settings can indicate which files on indicated computing devices are included in the virtual computing cloud. The networking system can selectively synchronize data between the computing devices automatically and in a secure manner, and can transmit data in real time to simulate local storage when synchronization of certain files is inappropriate in light of file incompatibility. As a result, the networking system can provide the user with a seamless, automatic system and method for accessing a total computing environment.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2024Publication date: April 17, 2025Inventors: Jonathan M. Conrad, David Simmons

Patent number: 12254856Abstract: There is disclosed an electronic hi-hat system having a movable upper housing separated from a stationary lower housing by a spring, with the upper housing having a simulated cymbal attached thereto. The upper housing and simulated cymbal connect through a central vertical rod to a lower foot pedal, with the entire structure being supported by a stand on which the lower housing mounts. The lower housing has a Hall effect sensor mounted thereon, and the upper housing has a permanent magnet aligned with and arranged to reciprocate vertically alongside the Hall effect sensor. The position of the magnet on the movable upper housing, and thus the simulated cymbal, is detected by Hall effect sensor which generates signals that can be transmitted, processed, and amplified into simulated high-hat cymbal sounds.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2024Date of Patent: March 18, 2025Assignee: Guitar Center, Inc.Inventors: David Simmons, Jeffrey R. Patent number: 12092429Abstract: A base station server of a combat simulation system includes, a communications interface, a processor and a memory. The memory has instructions stored thereon that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to receive an indication of a trigger pull from a weapon device and receive a data packet from the weapon device. The data packet may include an orientation of the weapon device and a position of the weapon device. The instructions further cause the processor to determine a position and an orientation of a target and identify a ballistic path of a simulated projectile fired from the weapon device. The ballistic path may be based at least in part on the orientation and the position of the weapon device. The instructions further cause the processor to determine a ballistic outcome by identifying whether the ballistic path intersects with the position of the target.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2020Date of Patent: September 17, 2024Assignee: Cubic CorporationInventors: Justin Morinishi, Karl Post, Sunita Shah, Yeunbin Tsai, David Simmons
