  • Publication number: 20230357648
Abstract: A method for converting a bio-oil derived from lignocellulosic biomass to a fuel or fuel blendstock. The method may include contacting the bio-oil with a lipid or lipid derivative to form an organic phase comprising phenolic compounds and an aqueous phase. The organic phase is separated from the aqueous phase and subjected to hydrogenation and deoxygenation in a hydroprocessing reactor to produce a hydrocarbon product, a gas product, and water. The hydroprocessing reactor hydrocarbon product is fractionated into fuel products comprising gasoline and kerosene/diesel.

  • Publication number: 20230124996
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for creating lower-carbon, carbon neutral, or carbon negative results through use of one or more combustion-powered devices. The invention further contemplates the ability to generate data or reports to demonstrate the results of the method and system.

  • Publication number: 20190218466
Abstract: The present technology provides blended fuel compositions and methods of generating such compositions that exhibit surprising and unexpected emissions profiles, while avoiding field performance issues, where the blended fuel composition includes about 5 vol. % to about 95 vol. % of synthetic paraffinic diesel; about 5 vol. % to about 95 vol. % of a biodiesel; and about 0 vol. % to about 90 vol. % of a petroleum diesel, provided that at least about 8 vol. % biodiesel is included when the blended fuel composition does not include petroleum diesel.

  • Publication number: 20080076735
Abstract: The present invention is directed to synthetic cytoskeletal active compounds that are related to natural Latrunculin A or Latrunculin B. The present invention is also directed to pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The invention is additionally directed to a method of preventing or treating diseases or conditions associated with actin polymerization. In one embodiment of the invention, the method treats increased intraocular pressure, such as primary open-angle glaucoma. The method comprises administering to a subject a therapeutically effective amount of a cytoskeletal active compound of Formula I or II, wherein said amount is effective to influence the cytoskeleton, for example by inhibiting actin polymerization.

  • Patent number: 4777762
Abstract: Methods and materials are provided for desiccated analogs of botanic seeds which are created by removing a portion of the water by slow or fast drying so that the plant tissue is no longer saturated with water. In a second embodiment, the meristematic tissue is encapsulated in a gel or polymer followed by dehydration. In another embodiment, the meristematic tissue is dehydrated prior to encapsulation in a gel. Protectants can be incorporated in the gel capsule. Meristematic tissue can be isolated from, for example, somatic embryos, zygotic and germ line sources.
