Abstract: A financial report and method for processing and displaying relevant financial information in connection therewith include at least one transaction and abbreviated record relating to the transaction which contains only nonpersonally identifying information. The abbreviated electronic record can be one of a partial view image or an assemblage of textual information relating to the transaction. A hyperlink can also be included or substituted for the image or text. The invention also provides a method of selecting the portion of the abbreviated record that is displayed for the user which includes the division of an underlying document or image into relevant and irrelevant regions for selective inclusion in the report.
