Abstract: A system for providing evidence of payment wherein each transaction initiated through the system is assigned a unique code. This code, along with other information, such as the customer name or transactional information, is used to generate a two-dimensional barcode which may be sent in an electronic format to the customer. This two dimensional barcode may be stored on in electronic format until such time as the customer needs to show evidence of payment, at which time the customer may print the two dimensional barcode on a printer attached to the computer.
