  • Patent number: 9866784
Abstract: Methods, systems, and products generate a programming guide. An association is stored between programming events and a package of programming. The programming guide is generated as a programming grid of cells that displays a wrapper surrounding all cells in the programming grid of cells that are associated with the programming events in the package of programming.

  • Patent number: 9038109
Abstract: Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for generating an enhanced programming guide. Programming events are associated as packages of programming. The programming guide is generated as a programming grid of cells. The programming grid lists a wrapper associated with each package and each package's associated events. The wrapper surrounds all the cells in the programming grid that are associated with the events for each package.

  • Patent number: 8640159
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for reducing bandwidth consumption in a switched broadcast multimedia distribution system. When a subscriber requests a channel, bandwidth is allocated to deliver a current program to the subscriber via the requested channel. The allocated bandwidth is then terminated upon expiration of a timer. The timer may have a defined value, or the timer may correspond to program scheduling.

  • Patent number: 8082567
Abstract: Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for providing programming. An electronic programming guide (EPG) is received. The EPG has events associated with products and a programming grid simultaneously listing a wrapper associated with each product and each product's associated events. An input is received that scrolls from one product to another product within the electronic programming guide. Another input is received that scrolls from one event to another event within the same product.

  • Patent number: 7600245
Abstract: A program source is linked to event information, which is coupled via a broadcast programming communication system to a number of subscribers. Each of the subscribers to the broadcast communication system has a device for displaying programming information. The subscriber is able to perform a variety of functions to select a program of interest. Subscribers can select, view, and purchase packages or events therein. The subscriber can scroll from event wrapper to event wrapper, within the same product or between products. Furthermore, while in the product scrolling mode the subscriber may interactively purchase a multi-event PPV product by using command buttons on a remote control.

  • Publication number: 20050289638
Abstract: Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for providing video and IP data over a common, shared coaxial interface. One method receives radio frequency signals via an input of a device. The input includes an interface to a coaxial cable. Packets of data are also received via the same input. Demodulation then recovers the packets of data and/or the radio frequency signals.

  • Publication number: 20020047894
Abstract: The system according to this invention comprises a program source linked to event information, which is coupled via a broadcast programming communication system to a number of subscribers. Each of the subscribers to the broadcast communication system has a device for displaying programming and either coupled to the display device or built into the display device is one component thereof, a set top box by which the subscriber is able to perform a variety of functions to select and cause to be displayed a program of interest. Subscribers can select, view information able particular packages or events therein and purchase desired packages or events therein. The invention accomplishes these features by packaging associated PPV events into products that are contained within a single product wrapper. To view individual events, the system allows a subscriber to remotely cause the EPG system to enter a second viewing mode.
