  • Publication number: 20150114839
Abstract: Disclosed are electrodepositable coating compositions that include a cationic amine salt group-containing (meth)acrylic polymer in which the (meth)acrylic polymer is prepared by polymerizing a mixture of ethylenically unsaturated monomers comprising at least 10% by weight of a (meth)acrylic monomer containing hydroxy ester groups, the % by weight being based on total weight of ethylenically unsaturated monomers, and an acid salt of a guanidine or a guanidine reaction product. Associated methods of preparing an amine salt group containing composition and for coating a substrate are also disclosed. Substrates coated with the electrodepositable coating composition are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20150106424
Abstract: Methods and systems for establishing user sessions between a client and a server or server farm can be carried out by a load balancing agent executing on a computer in communication with the client, server or server farm. The load balancing agent can intercept a connection request generated by an application executing on a client and responsively select a server on which to establish a user session. Selecting the server can be based on overbooking a particular server and choosing a server with a predetermined amount of forecasted load. Forecasted load can be determined by summing the current load on a server with a current load calculated by multiplying: the average load on the user sessions hosted by the server; by the number of cached user sessions stored on the server; and by the probability that a cached user session reconnects.

  • Publication number: 20150037137
Abstract: An improved vacuum pump mechanism is described in which an intersecting solid or perforated element is arranged to intersect a channel member. Relative movement of the intersecting solid or perforated element and channel member causes gas molecules to be urged from inlet to an outlet of the pump. Gas molecules are constrained within the channel member and interaction of the gas molecules with the flat and smooth surfaces of the intersecting solid or perforated member influence momentum of the gas molecules so that they are directed towards the outlet. In one embodiment, the channel member is formed as a helix and the intersecting solid or perforated elements are disk-shaped. An alternative embodiment is provided having the channel member configured as a spiral and the perforated elements as cylindrical skirts. The pump provides significant improvements in pump capacity, reduced power consumption and size of pump.

  • Publication number: 20150038038
Abstract: In accordance with one embodiment, a polymer composite comprises a filler and a matrix. The filler comprises an electrospun polymer mat. The matrix comprises a polymer film. The filler is arranged to respond to stimuli by altering its mechanical properties. In one example, the mat can be electrospun from poly(vinyl alcohol), and the matrix can be formed from ethylene oxide-epichlorohydrin 1:1 copolymer. The filler can be arranged so that the tensile storage modulus of the polymer composite changes in response to the filler being exposed to a stimulus. In another example, the filler is about four percent by weight of the polymer composite.

  • Patent number: 8851868
Abstract: A scroll compressor includes two scrolls 40, 46 having respective scroll plates 42, 48 and respective scroll walls 44, 50. The scroll walls intermesh so that on relative orbital movement of the scrolls, a volume 52, 54 of gas is trapped between the scrolls and pumped from an inlet 31 to an outlet 33. The axial extent ‘A’ of the trapped volume between the scroll plates is less along a first portion 62 of a flow path 56 between the inlet and the outlet than the axial extent ‘B’ of the trapped volume along a second portion 64 of the flow path, and the first portion is closer to the inlet than the second portion along the flow path.

  • Patent number: 8852007
Abstract: An aqueous novelty apparatus operable to provide a visual effect of a forward motion using a first liquid and a second liquid that are immiscible. The apparatus further includes a support frame having a base and a first vertical support and a second vertical support. The support frame is operable to suspend a vessel in an angular orientation. The vessel has an interior volume that is substantially hollow having the first liquid and second liquid disposed therein. A pumping system is operably coupled to the vessel and in fluid communication with the first liquid and in conjunction with the angular orientation of the vessel promotes the flow of the first liquid from one end of the vessel to a second end. A flow path disruption member shaped as a boat is disposed within the vessel and engages the flow path and results in the appearance of forward motion.
