  • Publication number: 20100007729
Abstract: This invention comprises a system and a method for inspecting the inside of delayed petroleum coking vessels to determine deformations, detect and determine the severity of other defects and visually observe the inside of the inspected vessel.

  • Patent number: 7055768
Abstract: A device for transmitting a beam of material in particulate form for example for use as an atomized particle paint sprayer comprises an outer bell-shaped member which is rotatable about a principal axis and arranged to project a conical curtain of small particles flowing generally towards a target, a supply system for supplying material from a reservoir source to an internal shaping region of the outer bell-shaped member to create the conical curtain of small particles there being an inner rotary bells-shaped member which is provided coaxially with the outer bells-shaped member so that at least a major part of the material emerging from the supply system is subject to differing rotary forces imparted by both the inner and outer rotary bell-shaped members.

  • Patent number: 6398452
Abstract: A security device (2) is described for protection access to and from a parking space by being suitable for secure mounting to the entrance/exit of the parking space at ground level comprising a barrier or sign (9) capable of movement between a raised position for preventing movement of a vehicle past the barrier (9) and a lowered position permitting the vehicle to be driven over the device (2), and arming pedal (4) which is depressed when the vehicle is driven over the device (2) to energize a driving means in the form of a torsion spring (78) which is connected via a control means including a cam (40) having two cam lobes (42,44) for effecting movement of a bar (60), to the barrier (9) by a suitable connection means, such as for example a slotted wheel (84) and pulley arrangement, so that operation of the control means causes lower or raising of the barrier.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: June 4, 2002
Inventors: Mark Harrison Wagner, David Stratton
  • Patent number: 5829205
Abstract: A portable field office having a generally rectangular base section configured to enclose the lower portion of an inner space; a generally rectangular top section configured to enclose an upper portion of the rectangular inner space and moveable between an upper extended position for use as a field office and a lowered position to form a module suitable for air transport and lift assemblies positioned to raise the top section between an extended and a lowered position and a door providing access to the inner space in the office in both the extended position and in the lowered position.

Inventors: Rick D. Clark, John David Stratton, Daryl K. Rutt
  • Patent number: 5387858
Abstract: An energy-conserving photvoltaic- or solar-rechargeable power source for commercial or industrial battery-operated products is provided, enabling a high degree of reliability of continued operation through a method involving the use of a backup battery or other backup d.c. voltage source which is automatically and instantaneously selected when the rechargeable cell falls below a predetermined lower threshold voltage. As the rechargeable cell receives charge from the solar cell, the circuit automatically switches back to it as the primary power source when an upper threshold voltage is reached. Moreover, the initial connecting of the rechargeable cell to power the product is ensured upon the turn-on of the product, even if not fully charged (though above the lower threshold voltage), conserving the backup source. More general applications are also disclosed.
