Publication number: 20240059638Abstract: Use of diverse biomass feedstock in a process for the recovery of target C5 and C6 alditols and target glycols via staged hydrogenation and hydrogenolysis processes is disclosed. Particular alditols of interest include, but are not limited to, xylitol and sorbitol. Various embodiments of the present invention synergistically improve overall recovery of target alditols and/or glycols from a mixed C5/C6 sugar stream without needlessly driving total recovery of the individual target alditols and/or glycols. The result is a highly efficient, low complexity process having enhanced production flexibility, reduced waste and greater overall yield than conventional processes directed to alditol or glycol production.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 25, 2023Publication date: February 22, 2024Inventors: Lloyd ALLEN, Claudio ARATO, Terry BRIX, Peter Andrew CLARKE, Joshua DAVIES, Bryan GENE, Mark KIRBY, Quak Foo LEE, William MCKEAN, Ankit MUNJAPARA, Clive Richard NORTON, Stuart A. Publication number: 20060288683Abstract: A roller assembly for attachment to a lawnmower. The roller assembly generally includes a tow arm having first and second links. The first link is configured to be supported at least indirectly on the lawnmower frame. The second link is connected to a shaft mounted with one or more rollers. A spring is disposed between the first and second links and configured to bias the second link downwardly relative to the first link, thereby biasing the rollers against a ground surface. The roller assembly further includes a quick connect assembly for rapid attachment and detachment of the roller assembly to the lawnmower. The roller assembly yet further includes a latch assembly configured to hold the second link and shaft of rollers in a raised position relative to the ground surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 20, 2006Publication date: December 28, 2006Applicant: Scag Power Equipment, Inc.Inventors: David Sugden, Kevin Boeck, Christopher Frame

Publication number: 20050200192Abstract: A rock cutting machine including a boom rotatably mounted at a proximal end to a chassis adapted to be placed adjacent a rock face to be cut. The boom extends from the chassis to a distal end adjacent the rock face. A longitudinal boom axis extends between the proximal and the distal ends of the boom and a cutting device is pivotally mounted about a pivot axis adjacent the distal end of the boom. The pivot axis enables wrist movement about the pivot axis by a drive mechanism and is offset from the longitudinal axis of the cutting device.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2003Publication date: September 15, 2005Inventors: David Sugden, Shivakumar Karekal, Paul Camavas

Publication number: 20050140200Abstract: An oscillating disc cutter including a cutting disc and a drive mechanism. The drive mechanism includes a drive shaft to effect eccentric oscillation of the cutting disc and a radial bearing disposed to permit relative rotation between the drive shaft and the cutting disc. The cutter further including a hydrostatic axial bearing disposed to react axial forces while accommodating induced rotation of the cutting disc when operatively engaged and to induce a rotational drag thereby limiting rotational peed of the cutting disc when free running. A water pressurized fluid bearing induces a predetermined axial load in the hydrostatic bearing such that a predetermined maximum running clearance in the hydrostatic bearing is maintained.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2003Publication date: June 30, 2005Inventor: David Sugden

Publication number: 20050126152Abstract: A mulching assembly for a mower deck that has one or more cutting chambers includes a channeling plate in each cutting chamber. The channeling plate is configured to optimize air and clipping flow through the cutting chamber for mulching and dispersal of the clippings without disrupting airflow and consequently creating obstructions in the high-pressure outer region of the cutting chamber. Each channeling plate is spaced from the outer perimeter of the cutting chamber, extends in a generally non-radial direction generally parallel to the bottom surface of the cutter deck, and is mounted to the deck directly above the cutting blade in each cutting chamber.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 12, 2004Publication date: June 16, 2005Inventors: Kevin Boeck, David Sugden, Todd Wanie

Patent number: 6192666Abstract: A lawnmower includes a cutter assembly having a cutter deck and at least three cutter blades disposed respectively in first, second and third cutting zones within the cutter deck. The cutter blades are coupled to a power source by a power transmission assembly. A first opening is formed in one side of the cutter deck adjacent the second cutting zone and a closure member is removably mounted on the cutter deck for closing the first opening. A second opening is formed in the cutter deck adjacent the second cutting zone and a conduit is coupled at one end to the second opening and at its other end to a hopper for conducting grass clippings from the cutter assembly to the hopper. A plurality of baffles define portions of the first, second and third cutting zones and are configured to direct clippings from the first cutting zone to the third cutting zone and from the third cutting zone to the second cutting zone.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 1999Date of Patent: February 27, 2001Assignee: Scag Power Equipment, Inc.Inventors: David Sugden, Kevin Boeck, Todd R. Patent number: 4967543Abstract: A lawn mower has a hydraulic motor mounted on each drive wheel and each motor is independently driven by a separate pump. Each pump includes a control lever for regulating fluid pressure and flow direction so that each wheel may be driven independently in the forward and reverse directions and at varying speeds. A speed control index is mounted on one side of the mower for releasably setting and maintaining the speed control levers in a plurality of equal forward speed positions so that the operator can preset the maximum forward speed. In addition, an individual speed control lever is mounted on each handgrip and each is independently coupled to one of the control levers for individually adjusting each wheel for speeds less than the preset maximum or for setting either wheel drive pump in neutral or reverse. A neutral control assembly returns the pump control levers to a neutral position when the control levers are moved into neutral.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 1989Date of Patent: November 6, 1990Assignee: Scag Power Equipment, Inc.Inventors: Dane T. Scag, David Sugden
