Patent number: 12184159Abstract: A solar power generation system is provided for more efficiently and cost-effectively generating and delivering power. The solar power generation system includes a plurality of distributed power converter nodes each configured to convert DC power received from a solar module into a deadband DC waveform. The deadband DC power generated by each power converter node is then transmitted to a centralized grid interface box, which is configured to unfold the deadband DC waveform into an AC signal suitable for transmission to an electric power grid.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2022Date of Patent: December 31, 2024Assignee: Southwire Company, LLCInventors: Charles Hume, David Sykes, Aldo P. Della Sera, Juan Galindo, Andrew M. Pluister, Mark Crosier

Patent number: 11956875Abstract: A power management and smart lighting system is provided that enables efficient distribution of DC power to various building features, including LED lighting. The power management system includes an intelligent power supply unit configured to convert AC power drawn from a building load center into a deadband DC waveform. The deadband DC power generated by the intelligent power supply unit is then transmitted over power-with-Ethernet cables to a plurality of distributed intelligent drivers, each configured to intelligently power one or more LED troffers. The intelligent drivers may be daisy-chained to one another by the power-with-Ethernet cables, enabling a power-ring architecture. To enable easy control of the drivers, intelligent sensors can be distributed throughout the topology and connected to the drivers (e.g., via power-with-Ethernet cables) to enable a wide array of lighting control options.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 2022Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: Southwire Company, LLCInventors: Charles Hume, David Sykes, Aldo P. Patent number: 11250020Abstract: Computer-implemented methods for synchronising content between documents are described. Content blocks within a source document are assigned respective unique identifiers, which content block unique identifiers are stored in source document metadata. When a content block is inserted into a destination document, the corresponding content block unique identifier is inserted into destination document metadata. An update to the content block in the source document is detected and, using the content block unique identifier, the corresponding content block in the destination document can be updated to reflect the changes made in the source document.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 2020Date of Patent: February 15, 2022Assignee: PRMA Consulting LimitedInventors: Sotiria Papanicolaou, David Sykes, Rebecca Bradley

Publication number: 20160071113Abstract: A method for assessing evidence includes receiving a user request to summarize an ability of the evidence to satisfy agency requirements of one or more agencies. Each of the one or more agencies has a plurality of evidence requirements categorized into one or more domains of a plurality of pre-defined domains. For each combination of an agency from the one or more agencies and a domain from the plurality of the domains, a visual indicator reflecting the ability of the evidence to satisfy at least one evidence requirement of the agency in the domain is generated. An interactive map comprising the generated visual indicators arranged by agencies and domains is rendered on a display device. The interactive map is configured such that a selection of a visual indicator on the map causes information related to the visual indicator to be rendered on the display device.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 9, 2014Publication date: March 10, 2016Applicant: PRMA Consulting Ltd.Inventors: Sotiria Papanicolaou, Fraser Rutherford, David Sykes, Casey Quinn, Jonathan Spinage, Steven Fountain

Patent number: 6172862Abstract: A portable partial discharge detecting device for measuring partial discharge in energized electrical systems encloses a relay circuit and a DC power source. A pair of sensor circuits are enclosed within electrically coupling clamping mechanisms and are coupled to the relay circuit at sensor inputs by cabling. The clamping mechanisms engage the ground leads of the electrical system. Trip and alarm networks of the relay circuit continuously compare the picocoulomb values of the partial discharge pulses against user set threshold values. Relays coupled to the trip and alarm networks respond if the threshold values are exceeded. The alarm setting is always set to a pick-up value equal to or less than the trip setting. The trip network relays are coupled to a control circuit of the electrical system and can take the system off-line. The alarm network relays are coupled to an alarm circuit and can warn the user that a certain level of partial discharge has been reached within the electrical system.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 1999Date of Patent: January 9, 2001Inventors: Anthony J.
