    Abstract: A double-balloon inferior vena cava (IVC) shunt for use in controlling blood loss and simultaneously maintaining venous return is disclosed. The IVC shunt comprises a first balloon-catheter unit and second balloon-catheter unit that are slidably coupled to one another to form an adjustable shunt. The first and second balloons in the shunt are independently inflatable. The double-balloon shunt is readily adjustable to fit the dimensions of the injured region.
