  • Patent number: 7093196
Abstract: A method and apparatus allowing items to be relatively positioned within an electronic document is disclosed. By positioning the items relative to each other, as opposed to absolutely with respect to the page, this allows for a greater versatility in the page layout. Utilization of this method and apparatus means that items can be automatically aligned on a page. Furthermore if additional items are inserted, the position of the original items can be automatically adjusted to ensure that correct alignment is maintained.

  • Patent number: 4231615
Abstract: A frame for an automobile seat or a domestic seat comprises a base frame; a pad which consists of a series of parallel cords and a series of parallel cross-wires, and is suspended over the base frame; spring elements having torsion parts secured to the cords of the pad; and an edge frame mounted above the base frame on limbs of said spring elements which extend upwardly and outwardly from the side edge regions of the pad and are secured at their upper ends to said edge frame. The spring elements have lengths which may be anchored on said pad or on said base frame, and spring elements of both forms may be employed.

  • Patent number: 4172589
Abstract: In a cushion support element for incorporation in a structure such as a seat, bed or the like comprising a platform formed by lateral side edge wires sheathed in a compressible material, and a plurality of transverse spring wires wound around the sheathing of the edge wires, an improved connection is provided between the transverse wires and the edge wires in that the transverse wires are wound around the sheathing, hooked over upon themselves to provide an interlocked connection and then bent back towards the sheathing so that their free ends engage the latter. This both shields the sharp ends of the transverse wires and also urges the sheathing into the crook of the wound transverse wire to ensure a tighter connection.

  • Patent number: 4171125
Abstract: In a seat support structure of the kind comprising two spaced longitudinally extending cord members, and a plurality of spaced apart spring metal wires extending transversely between the longitudinal cords and connected to the latter, the transverse wires extending beyond at least one of the longitudinal cords into connection with an edge wire to define an angled, sprung wing of the structure, there is provided an improved, interlocking connection between the transverse wires and the or each longitudinal cord adjacent the wing to prevent failure of the connection under tension on the longitudinal cord.
