    Abstract: A method and test for field sample arsenic speciation in aqueous solutions, in particular, arsenic speciation in drinking water, is described. In particular, the method and test uses in series three columns wherein the first column removes interfering cations from water, the second column removes dimethylarsenate (DMA) from the water, and the third column removes As(V) (collectively H3AsO4/H2AsO4?/HAsO42?/AsO43?) and monomethylarsinate (MMA) while As(III) (collectively H3AsO3/H2AsO3?/HAsO32?/AsO33?) remains in the water effluent. The bound arsenic species are separately eluted from the columns in a laboratory and then each of the eluants and the effluent are tested for the arsenic species, preferably using graphite furnace atomic absorption spectroscopy.

    Abstract: A marksmanship training system is disclosed as comprising a viewing screen pon which a scenic picture having a predetermined target included therein is projected by a combination motion picture projector and film. A plurality of simulated rifles shoot laser light shots of different colors, respectively, at the target located within the image of said projected motion picture scene. A like plurality of receiver channels respond to the colors of said laser shots respectively, and as a result of being properly synchronized with said projector and film, determine and indicate the number of target "hits" for any given number of shots. A color television camera and video tape recorder monitor training exercises, and a video tape player permits the playback thereof for additional training purposes.

    Abstract: A novolak resin suitable for use as a light-sensitive photoresist or maskant is prepared by reaction of at least one cresol with an aldehyde or reactive ketone and an aromatic hydroxyl compound having an alkyl side chain of from 3-15 carbon atoms. The addition of a conventional photosensitive agent yields a composition evidencing superior characteristics as compared with prior art novolak photoresists and which requires less sensitizer than such prior art resists.

    Abstract: A laser type direct fire weapon simulator for action against a moving image isplay wherein the weapon is slaved connected to variable voltage producing devices such as potentiometers to provide voltage outputs corresponding to azimuth and elevation positions of the weapon, a voltage responsive beam deflector system for varying the direction of the laser beam on the display target in accordance with the azimuth and elevation voltages, a continuous reading delay monitor responsive to a delay voltage derived from the elevation voltage to provide prior time readout voltage data to an electro-optical system directing the laser beam such that when actuated the system shows the location where a missile would have hit allowing for delay time corresponding to elevation voltage, together with a delay trigger circuit which delays the display of the hit until the elapse of missile flight time corresponding again to elevation voltage and hence range.
