Publication number: 20260273149Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for performing continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) on a patient using a device (10) with a user interface (28) and programmable circuitry on which prescription data is entered. Information according to the prescription is provided to the patient on the user interface (28), and treatment data relating to administered CAPD are gathered and communicated to a healthcare provider. Multiple parameters of the treatment data are aggregated for multiple patients, along with outcomes data and expected likely outcomes of CAPD treatment are modelled as a function of said multiple parameters of treatment data, to provide to assist in prescription optimisation and patient centric treatment.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 6, 2024Publication date: September 17, 2026Applicant: Vivatum PD AGInventors: David THORNE, Evan SMIT

Patent number: 8074606Abstract: A door section for fitting in a sliding door frame is preferably made of plastic, e.g., PVC. The door section contains a built in pet door. The door section is formed by tubular sides and cross members, and has plastic brackets or fittings that press fit within the tubular members and preferably also may be screwed in place, or otherwise fixed in place, e.g., using epoxy, or both screws and epoxy. Alternatively, the corners of the door section may be welded or otherwise fixed together. The door section has brackets on its side edges for hanging or connecting to the inside of the sliding door frame, and the door section may also have a bracket or catch on the other side edge from which the door section connects to the frame. This bracket or catch is for the existing sliding door's lock. Preferably, insulation strips are provided and preferably an H-shaped vertical section may fit on top of the door section and inside the frame for a fit with less play, and for a smoother or cleaner look.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2010Date of Patent: December 13, 2011Inventors: Thomas E. Schrey, David Thorne

Publication number: 20070175097Abstract: A pet door assembly has a frame having an opening defined therein, a flap mounted to the frame for covering the opening and movable to allow a pet to pass therethrough, a cover removably mounted to the frame to cover the opening and prevent passage through the opening, a detector mounted to the frame for detecting when the cover has been removed, and an alarm sound generator mounted to the frame for generating a sound in response to the detector detecting removal of the cover. In another embodiment, there is a cover for a pet door having an alarm which cover may be retrofit onto a pet door assembly of a type having a frame with an opening defined therein, and a flap for covering the opening. The cover is sized to replace an existing cover for the door, and has an alarm assembly mounted on it. The alarm assembly has a detector for detecting when the cover has been removed, and an alarm sound generator for generating a sound in response to the detector detecting removal of the cover.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 17, 2006Publication date: August 2, 2007Inventors: David Thorne, Ashley Howden

Publication number: 20070106231Abstract: A medical needle shield apparatus is provided that includes a needle hub (104 ) having an outer needle cannula (103) extending therefrom. An inner needle (106) is disposed for slidable movement with the outer needle cannula (103). At least one shield (101) is extensible from a retracted position to an extended position to enclose a distal end of the inner needle (101). The shield (101) includes a binding member (105) disposed within the shield (101) and defines binding surfaces (122) that form an aperture (138) configured for slidable receipt of the inner needle (106). The binding member (105) includes a binding member reset surface (107) aligned with a reset surface (108) for engagement therewith to allow reuse of a shielded needle apparatus.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 23, 2004Publication date: May 10, 2007Inventors: Jeremy Snow, F. Publication number: 20060074387Abstract: A needle safety apparatus is disclosed which includes an inner bearing disposed within an outer bearing. The inner bearing is moveable to extend telescopically in a first interior space defined by the outer bearing. A second interior space is defined by the inner bearing, while extendable linkage segments connect the hub to the inner bearing. A hub retains the proximal end of a needle, while the distal end of the needle extends through the second interior space. A wedging portion is movable with the inner bearing and pivots to secure the distal end of the needle within the second interior space when the distal end of the needle is retracted therethrough. A latch may be formed in the outer bearing to obstruct the first interior space and prevent the inner bearing from retracting therethrough.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 22, 2005Publication date: April 6, 2006Inventors: David Thorne, F. Ferguson, Donald Solomon
