Patent number: 11474337Abstract: A direct view optical sighting system. In certain examples the system includes an eyepiece, an objective that directs scene light to the eyepiece, a laser rangefinder, and a laser rangefinder coupling prism that directs a laser transmit beam from the laser rangefinder to the objective and a laser return beam from the objective to the laser rangefinder. Examples of the system further include a display assembly including a reticle prism and a display coupling prism, the reticle prism being positioned along the optical path between the laser rangefinder coupling prism and the display coupling prism and having a hard reticle formed on a surface thereof. The objective can be configured to produce a first focal plane of the optical sighting system coincident with the first surface of the reticle prism. The display coupling prism is configured to direct display light toward the eyepiece.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2017Date of Patent: October 18, 2022Assignee: Raytheon Canada LimitedInventors: Douglas J. Patent number: 8555181Abstract: Methods and systems for constructing rules enable a simultaneous display of multiple windows on a display screen of a computer system. The multiple windows include a first window configured as a library and a second window configured as a canvas. Custom configuration of tiles in the library is enabled, and each tile corresponds to a term. Further, selection of the tiles from the library for placement in the canvas is enabled, and the placement reflects a logical statement, which corresponds to one or more instructions capable of being executed by a computer to perform a business function.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2010Date of Patent: October 8, 2013Assignee: Amdocs Software Systems LimitedInventors: David Thorpe, Michael Keith Lemmon, Gretchen Almy McNeely, Scott J. Patent number: 8430547Abstract: A reaction-testing system is provided to simulate motion to an individual. Generally, the reaction-testing system includes a motion-simulating device, a reflective device, a control unit, and an input device that is activated by an individual In exemplary embodiments, the motion-simulating device includes a beam that accommodates a first and second plurality of light sources capable of, at least, alternating between an active and idle condition. These light sources are arranged amongst occlusion features in a mounting pattern such that light emitted from the first plurality is directly viewable by an individual and light emitted from the second plurality is indirectly viewed by the individual through the reflecting surface. The control unit is configured to sequentially activate the light sources sequentially to generate pulses of light on that, when perceived by the individual, appear as a light moving along a vector.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 2009Date of Patent: April 30, 2013Assignee: Nike, Inc.Inventors: Alan W. Patent number: 8387281Abstract: An article of footwear promotes complimentary movement and proprioceptive feedback of a user's foot (e.g., to help an infant learn to walk or an adult balance on an uneven surface) while wearing the article of footwear. The article of footwear includes an outsole having a forefoot region, a heel region, and a mid region substantially in between the forefoot and heel regions. The three regions are configured to provide complimentary movement with respect to the user's foot. The forefoot region of the outsole includes a base portion interconnecting ground contact pads configured to move relative to one another, each ground contact pad moving substantially independently of the other relative to the base portion.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 2009Date of Patent: March 5, 2013Assignee: SRL, Inc.Inventors: Marc R. Patent number: 8381417Abstract: An article of footwear includes a footwear upper and a sole assembly secured to the footwear upper. The sole assembly has a heelward portion and a toeward portion, and includes a deck assembly disposed substantially in the heelward portion of the sole assembly. The deck assembly includes an upper deck portion, a lower deck portion spaced from the upper deck portion, and right and left supports attached to respective right and left portions of the upper and lower deck portions substantially near respective right and left lateral edges of the upper and lower deck portions. The deck assembly defines a cavity between the upper and lower decks. The deck assembly directs translation of ground contact forces incurred by the heelward portion of the sole assembly at least partially laterally outwardly.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 2009Date of Patent: February 26, 2013Assignee: SR Holdings, LLCInventors: Kevin Crowley, II, David M. Publication number: 20130016520Abstract: Provided are assemblies and processes for achieving desirable homogenization and mixing of one or more light sources. The assemblies include the use of diffusers and light pipes in a particular configuration that allows very good homogenization performance while reducing the requisite length of light pipe. In particular, a length of a light-pipe homogenizer can be substantially reduced by diffusing the light after it has been partially pre-mixed by a light pipe. Additional mixing can take place after diffusion. For example, a diffuser can be positioned within a light pipe or sandwiched between two light pipes. In some embodiments, the diffuser is placed at a point along a light pipe where the light from each source or each portion of a single source substantially covers the diffuser approximately equally. Consequently, a rate of homogenization can be increased, thereby reducing the required length of the complete homogenization system.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2012Publication date: January 17, 2013Applicant: RAYTHEON COMPANYInventors: Christopher Jacob Reimer, Michael David Thorpe
